Auto Expo 2018: Tata 45X Concept Revealed
Tata Motors has revealed the Baleno-rivaling 45X concept at the Auto Expo 2018. The concept previews a new premium hatchback that the Indian automaker will sell here by the end of 2019. Based on Tata Motors’ new Impact 2.0 design philosophy, the car will use a brand new platform known as the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP).
In terms of design, the showcased 45X concept hatchback gets modern front fascia retaining the brand’s signature arching grille which blends beautifully into the futuristic two-piece LED headlamps, funky LED foglights, finely detailed bumper as well as bold waistline, flared wheel arches, hexagonal daylight opening, and a steeply raked front and rear windshields complete the side profile of the concpet hatchback. At the rear, the Tata Motors 45X concept offers the supercar style two-piece windshield and roof mounted spoilers along with swanky LED taillights, glossy black diffuser with dual exhaust tips and a massive bumper.
However, the interior of the concept has not been revealed yet and we can expect the details to come out later this year. The powertrain options are likely to be borrowed from the Tata Motor’s other successful hatchback, Tiago but we can definitely expect the engines to be re-tuned to offer better power and torque outputs.
Also, till now, the automaker has not confirmed if there will be an AMT version of the concept available but looking at the rivals Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 offering AMT option, we can expect an AMT version with the production spec of the Tata 45X concept hatchback.
Also, Tata Motors has also not confirmed regarding the time of launch of the Vehicle based on this 45X concept but according to the speculations in the market, it might get launched sometime in 2019 and the expected pricing bracket is under 5-lakh. Looking at the concept, the automaker will definitely be targeting the premium hatchback segment where the production-spec will take against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo.
