Speaking at the launch of the Next Generation KUV100 NXT, Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd mentioned, “The KUV100 created a new category with an SUV in the price segment of Rs. 4.5 – Rs. 7.5 lakh. We have always been a listening organisation and in line with that, we have managed to successfully launch the New KUV100 within 21 months. With its unique proposition, I firmly believe that the KUV100 NXT will reaffirm our customers’ faith in Mahindra’s abilities to create class leading products.”

Under the hood, the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 gets the same 1.2-litre all-aluminum mFalcon G80 3-cylinder petrol motor that produces 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque while the diesel variants will come with 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged common-rail diesel engine, the mFalcon D75, which develops 77bhp along with 190Nm of torque.  Both the engines will come mated to the same 5-speed manual transmission option.

Sharing his views, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said, “Today’s evolving customer aspirations demand more in terms of premiumness, style and hi-tech features, and the KUV100 NXT is a true reflection of that. Given that the growth in the UV segment has been primarily driven by the compact SUVs, I am confident that the KUV100 NXT will resonate well with its buyers, both first time car buyers as well as upgraders.”

In terms of changes, the newly launched KUV100 looks mostly the same as the previous generation while it gets some changes including revised headlamps while the grille takes inspiration from the updated Mahindra XUV500 along with an updated front bumper, which comes with a new mesh. Also, the new KUV100 offers plastic cladding around the fog lamps and a faux skid plate finished in brushed aluminum is also seen at the front and rear of the SUV. The new alloy wheels and slightly revised ORVMs as well as new clear lens taillights with chrome bezels inside and black highlights, along with a revised bumper in line with the front unit at the rear add to the appeal of the 2017 Mahindra KUV100.

At the inside, the SUV offers a new all-black treatment with brushed silver inserts for the premium touch while the base variants will get grey interiors. Talking about the features, the range topping K8 trim offers a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with audio and navigation support while the Safety features include ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
