Spied: 2018 Hyundai Creta Facelift Again In India

South Korean automaker Hyundai is preparing to launch the 2018 Creta facelift in the Indian market this year, the SUV has been spied testing in Chennai ahead of its launch. However, the 2018 Hyundai Creta was expected to be launched at the Auto Expo this year but the automaker didn’t bring the SUV at the event and launched other much awaited vehicle the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift at the Auto Expo 2018. However, Hyundai has not yet revealed any official launch details about the 2018 Creta facelift yet but it is expected to be launched in the country by mid-2018.

Talking about the updates on the 2018 Creta, the SUV will be limited to minor updates to the exteriors and interiors. The upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift will sport the ‘Cascading’ front grille to give it a more familiar look along with revised bumper and fog lamps. While new alloy wheels are expected at the sides, the rear of the SUV will be slightly updated with a new bumper. At the interior, we can expect Hyundai to offer more features and an updated infotainment system. Apart from these, the interior of the 2018 Creta facelift is likely to remain the same as the outgoing model.

Under the hood, the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift will get the same petrol and diesel engine options- the 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine that produces 121 BHP of power and 154 Nm of torque and two diesel engine options. The 1.4-litre CRDi diesel motor that churns out 89 BHP of power and 220 Nm of torque and the 1.6-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine generating 126 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque. All the three engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines also get a 6-speed automatic transmission as an option.

Apart from these, the 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift might get new body colors as well. This will be the first major update for Hyundai’s D-segment SUV since its launch in 2015 in the country. In terms of pricing, Hyundai Creta facelift will carry a slight premium over the current model and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
