    Petrol Engine Review

    • The Nexon has a more powerful engine than the WR-V.
    • The Nexon's engine produces more torque than the WR-V's.
    • The Nexon 1.2 l turbo petrol manual is more fuel-efficient than the WR-V manual.

Nexon's engine offers more torque, so it will offer better driveability compared to WR-V's engine. The Nexon petrol isn’t just more powerful and torquier, it’s also more fuel-efficient. Since its torque comes early in the rev range, you won’t have to wring the throttle every time to get acceleration. Thus, real-life fuel efficiency figures of the Nexon petrol will be much better than the WR-V’s. The WRV’s torque to weight ratio is under 100Nm/tonne, which is terrible for a car costing upwards of Rs. 10 lakh on-road in many states.

    Nexon Diesel vs WR-V Diesel

Tata Nexon gets a 1.5, 4-cylinder diesel engine makes 110PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT type automatic transmission. The Tata Nexon petrol manual has a mileage of 22.44kmpl while the automatic claims to deliver a fuel-efficiency figure of 22.44kmpl.

Honda WR-V 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel engine makes 100PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and has a mileage of 23.7kmpl.

    Diesel Engine Review

    • The Nexon has a more powerful engine than the WR-V.
    • The Nexon's engine produces more torque than the WR-V's.
    • The WR-V 1.5 l diesel manual is more fuel-efficient than the Nexon manual.

Nexon's diesel engine offers more torque, so it will offer better driveability compared to WR-V's engine. The WR V diesel’s torque-to-weight ratio is respectable with the diesel engine but not quite enough to challenge the Nexon’s figure.

If you're looking for a car with lower running costs then WR-V will be better since its engine is more fuel-efficient. So in most of the cases, Nexon appears to be the better car of the two. Not to mention, it’s the only car in this comparison to offer an automatic transmission option - with both the engines.
