What Are The Pros And Cons Of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios?

The pros or advantages of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios are:

  • Most affordable car to offer 6 airbags and 5x 3-point seat belts as standard
  • Notable features of the Grand i10 Nios include auto AC with rear vents, keyless entry, TPMS, power mirrors, steering-mounted controls, touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, projector headlamps and cruise control
  • Mid-spec variants offer tremendous value for money along with a good number of must-have features
  • Fantastic variant-to-variant feature distribution makes most variants easy to recommend as they have a good number of must-have features (however, we suggest going with our recommendation to get the best value for money)
  • Option of 3 powertrains — petrol-manual, petrol-automatic and CNG-manual
  • Respectable fuel efficiency with all powertrain options

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has the following shortcomings or problems:

  • Missing features like front and rear armrests
  • Boot space is almost non-existent with the CNG powertrain; Tiago offers a usable cargo volume even with the CNG kit
  • Missing features like TPMS and cruise control - Addressed by Hyundai in Jan 2023 facelift update
  • Magna CNG and Magna petrol-automatic carry a higher-than-usual price premium over the petrol-manual variant - Addressed by Hyundai in Jan 2023 facelift update

Surprisingly, there are no major deal-breakers with the Grand i10 Nios facelift.

What Is The Price Of 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift Petrol And CNG Variants?

The base variant of the i10 Nios doesn’t get some must-have features. So, we won’t recommend even budget buyers to get the base model. Instead, you should stretch your budget for at least the Magna variant, which almost justifies the upgrade cost over the Era variant.

For all powertrain options, this variant offers a good balance of must-have features and value for money. For budget buyers, the upgrade to Magna is almost justified and highly recommended. However, if you want the features of the higher variant or you want better value for money, then the upgrade to Sportz variant is an obvious choice and an easy recommendation.

This variant gets almost all must-have features we expect from a car at this price. In terms of value, the upgrade to the Sportz Executive variant more than justifies the incremental cost over the lower Era and Magna variants. For value and a pleasant long-term ownership experience, we’ll suggest all Nios buyers to buy the Sportz variant instead as it only costs Rs. 3,500 more and offers auto AC as well. Still, the Sportz Executive is also a good pick.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift Petrol Sportz Executive vs Sportz Variant - Price, Feature Comparison

The Sportz variant of the Grand i10 Nios costs Rs. 7.31 lakh with the petrol-manual powertrain and Rs. 7.88 lakh with the automatic. These prices are Rs. 3,500 higher than the Sportz Executive. The Sportz petrol-automatic is Rs. 56,800 pricier than the manual.

In this variant, you may miss features like:

The only notable feature addition in the Sportz variant over the Sportz Executive is the auto AC. it more than justifies the Rs. 3,500 upgrade cost. So, we highly recommend the Sportz instead of the Sportz Executive. It also naturally earns our top recommendation for all powertrain buyers.

The Sportz dual tone is also a value upgrade. So, you can buy it if you want a dual tone exterior and black interiors. It too justifies the upgrade cost over the single tone Nios Sportz.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift Petrol Sportz vs Asta Variant - Price, Feature Comparison

The Grand i10 Nios Asta top model also gets the petrol-manual and petrol-automatic powertrains but doesn’t get the CNG bi-fuel option. The Asta variant of the new Nios costs Rs. 7.95 lakh with the petrol-manual and Rs. 8.51 lakh with the petrol-automatic powertrain. They both are Rs. 63,150 pricier than the lower Sportz petrol variant.

Even in the top model, you may miss front and rear armrests. Otherwise, it’s fairly well loaded.

For buyers who want an upmarket ownership experience, the Asta variant is also a worthy upgrade. It completely justifies the price jump from the Era variant with all the additional features. However, the Sportz still beats it in terms of value as the Asta doesn’t offer enough features to justify the Rs. 63,150 price gap over the Sportz variant. Overall, it’s a good value for money option and worth buying.

Which Variant Of The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Petrol, CNG Should You Buy?

For the Nios petrol buyers, the Era variant is not worth considering as it doesn’t get several must-have features and also doesn’t offer a decent value for money compared to the other Nios variants. Even budget buyers should upgrade to the Magna variant for a far better ownership experience. It almost justifies the cost of upgrading over the base model.

However, if you can stretch your budget, then the Sportz variant is an easy choice as it offers tremendous value for money and earns our top recommendation. From there, you can consider upgrading to the Asta variant but it mostly gets good-to-have features only. Or you can also switch to the lower Sportz executive if you don’t mind giving up the auto AC feature.
