    For the petrol automatic powertrain, Nexa Baleno’s prices start from Rs. 7.77 lakh. The Baleno automatic is Rs. 1.32 lakh more expensive than manual. Hyundai Aura starts at Rs. 7.06 lakh. Hyundai Aura automatic is Rs. 50,000 more expensive than manual.

    In case of the automatic transmission, the cost equation tips in Aura’s favour as its cheaper AMT limits the price jump to about Rs. 50,000. The Baleno’s automatic variants cost a lot more than the Aura.

    Price of the base variant of Maruti Baleno is Rs. 5.64 lakh and Hyundai Aura is Rs. 5.80 lakh (both ex-showroom). For the most part, the Aura is more affordable than the Baleno. The Aura turbo is very expensive over the normal petrol engine. Similarly, the Baleno hybrid also carries an unreasonable price premium of almost Rs. 90,000 over the comparable variant with the normal petrol engine.

    For petrol powertrain, Aura's turbo petrol engine shines with its phenomenal torque output and diesel-like torque-to-weight ratio. On the other hand, the Nexa Baleno’s hybrid engine has a diesel-like mileage of almost 24kmpl.

    Among normal petrol engines, the Baleno will offer better drivability and slightly better mileage too because of lighter weight and better torque-to-weight ratio.
