Dimension Review
- The S-Cross is longer than the XUV300 by 305mm.
- The XUV300 is wider than the S-Cross by 36mm.
- The XUV300 is taller than the S-Cross by 32mm.
- The S-Cross and the XUV300 have identical wheelbase, which is surprising considering that the S-Cross is a foot longer than the XUV300.
- The S-Cross has 118 litres more boot space than the XUV300. This is where the shorter length and longer wheelbase does the damage for the shorter XUV. The stretched out axles result in compromised boot space as the wheel wells intrude into the boot.
- The S-Cross and the XUV300 have identical ground clearance. Neither of them is great in this regard and both barely managed to crack into the SUV territory with just enough clearance.

Petrol Engine Review
- The XUV300 has a more powerful engine than the S-Cross.
- The XUV300's engine produces way more torque than the S-Cross'. More importantly, the torque peaks at just 2000rpm and remains strong till 3500rpm The S-Cross’ torque in comparison has 900 more RPMs to climb before it peaks. So, naturally, the XUV300 will offer better drivability and in-gear acceleration despite its significantly heavier kerb weight.
- While the S-Cross petrol has satisfactory performance figures, it impresses with great mileage figures, which don’t change with the choice of transmission.
