by ahmad Dates: 08 Feb 2018

Honda Cars India is drawing major attention at the ongoing Auto Expo 2018 owing to its three new models that it is showcasing. Honda has unveiled the 10th generation Civic in India for the first time, as has been already reported.

Alongside, the Japanese auto major has also introduced the new generation CR-V SUV and the new generation Amaze subcompact sedan. All these three car models are important products for Honda in the Indian car market.

The all new Honda CR-V and the Honda Civic are expected to launch in the Indian market by the next financial year 2018-19. Honda has not revealed the exact launch dates for these three cars, while their prices will be revealed at the time of each of these models’ official market launch. All these three showcased cars will be manufactured in India.

Among the three, the second generation Honda Amaze subcompact sedan made its world premiere at the 2018 Auto Expo. The new-gen Amaze will be equipped better to fight with the likes of the all-time segment ruler Maruti Suzuki Dzire and a whole lot of other entry-level sedans such as the Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest, Ford Aspire and the likes.

The new-gen Amaze has become much more premium looking with some design cues from its highly popular elder sibling – the Honda City. The Amaze’s criticized cabin has also got a makeover to draw more buyers in the highly competitive sub-4 meter sedan segment of India.

On the other hand, the bygone popular D-segment sedan in India, the Honda Civic is making a comeback to prove itself again. The globally acclaimed Civic was discontinued in India back in 2013 due to poor market sales. However, the Indian car market is much more matured now, and the Civic is expected to make a good mark in our country this time around in terms of sales too.

The 10th generation Honda Civic is an all-new car with a bold new design and tons of goodies on the inside. It is a highly sporty and fun car and will be offered in a diesel avatar in India to make most of the market. Upon launch in India, the Civic will go up against the likes of the D-segment leader Toyota Corolla Altis.

The last, but not the least is the 5th generation new Honda CR-V crossover model. The CR-V has been around in India for a long time. However, this will be the first time that the compact premium SUV will come along with a diesel version. The CR-V will also come with a new design language, lots of added features, equipments and cutting-edge technology to compete better with its market competitors. In India, the new-gen CR-V will go up against the popular Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.

Speaking to the media, the President and representative director of Honda Motor, Takahiro Hachigo said that India is an important market for the company and Honda is committed to the Indian car market. The company aims to launch 6 models in India the next three years.
