    Ford EcoSport petrol manual comes with 6 variants: Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+, Thunder and S.

    • Ford EcoSport starts at Rs. 8.18 lakh. EcoSport Ambiente costs Rs. 1.48 lakh more than Hyundai Venue 1.2's entry-level variant, which is the most affordable car in this segment.
    • S is EcoSport's most expensive variant with the petrol manual powertrain. It costs Rs. 11.22 lakh. It’s still more affordable than the most expensive petrol manual B2-segment SUV, Mahindra XUV W8(O), by Rs. 63k.

    • Ford EcoSport starts at Rs. 10.67 lakh. EcoSport Titanium costs Rs. 2.37 lakh more than Tata Nexon's entry-level variant, which is the most affordable petrol automatic SUV in this class.
    • EcoSport Titanium+ costs Rs. 11.57 lakh and that makes it the most expensive petrol automatic in the B2-segment SUV segment.
    • The second most expensive petrol automatic B2 SUV is the Venue 1.0 SX Plus, which costs Rs. 21,000 less than the EcoSport Titanium Plus automatic.

    • S is EcoSport's most expensive variant with the diesel manual powertrain. It costs Rs. 11.71 lakh. It’s still Rs. 42.5k cheaper than the Mahindra XUV W8(O),  which is the most expensive diesel SUV in this class with a manual transmission.

    Ford EcoSport is available with a 1.5L petrol engine with a 5-speed transmission. The power and torque output of this engine are 122PS and 149Nm, respectively.

    • Ford Ecosport petrol produces 122PS of power. It is the most powerful engine in the segment. It has 2PS more power than the Venue turbo.
    • Mahindra XUV300 produces 200Nm of peak torque. It has the best torque figures in the segment - 51Nm more than the EcoSport.
    • While the turbo petrol engines in this segment from Nexon, XUV300 and Venue shine in this comparison, the WR-V disappoints. It has the worst torque-to-weight ratio of under 100Nm/tonne.
    • The Honda WR-V petrol will have the worst performance in this segment as it not only has the lowest torque output but it also peaks at a very high 4800rpm.
    • The EcoSport petrol has the worst fuel efficiency in this segment. EcoSport petrol’s mileage figure stands at 15.9kmpl with the manual and 14.7kmpl with the automatic transmission.
    • With a manual transmission, Hyundai Venue 1.0 turbo has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 18.2kmpl - 2.3kmpl better than the EcoSport.
    • With the automatic transmission, Maruti Suzuki Brezza has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 18.76kmpl - about 4kmpl or 27% better than the EcoSport automatic.

    Mahindra XUV300 petrol has the best torque output but the Hyundai Venue turbo has the best torque-to-weight ratio in the segment. So, the Venue should have the best drivability of all cars in this comparison with the Mahindra XUV300 following closely. If you're looking for a car with lower running costs, then Hyundai Venue 1.0 will be better since it is the most fuel-efficient petrol MT car in this segment. For automatic transmission, you can go with the Brezza.

    Ford EcoSport is available with a 1.5L diesel engine with a 5-speed transmission. The power and torque output of this engine are 100PS and 215Nm, respectively. 

    • The EcoSport diesel is the only car in this segment with a 5-speed manual transmission. All other cars get a 6-speed transmission.
    • Mahindra XUV300 produces 117PS of power. It is the most powerful diesel engine in the segment, having 17PS more power than EcoSport diesel.
    • Mahindra XUV300 produces 300Nm of peak torque. It has the best torque figures in the segment - 85Nm more than the EcoSport diesel.
    • With a manual transmission, Honda WR-V diesel has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 23.7kmpl. Although its torque to weight ratio is still about 50Nm/tonne behind the segment best XUV300.
    • With an automatic transmission, Tata Nexon diesel has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 22.44kmpl.

    The Mahindra XUV300 diesel engine offers the best torque in this segment, so will offer better driveability compared to all other cars. If you're looking for a car with low running cost, then Honda WR-V diesel wins the fuel efficiency battle.

    Ford EcoSport is 3998mm long, 1765mm wide, 1647mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2519mm. A wider body normally results in better shoulder room and a higher roof makes ingress & egress easier. A longer wheelbase usually results in more cabin space. It has a boot space of 352 litres. A larger boot allows you to carry more luggage. EcoSport has a 200mm ground clearance, it rides on 215/60 R16 tyres size and has 52 litres fuel tank capacity.

    • Mahindra XUV300 is the widest car in the segment. It is 56mm wider than EcoSport.
    • Ford EcoSport has a height of 1647mm, it is the tallest car in the segment.
    • Mahindra XUV300 has the longest wheelbase in the segment. Its wheelbase is longer than the EcoSport’s by 81mm.
    • Honda WR-V has the biggest boot space in the segment. It has 11-lt more boot space than the EcoSport. 
    • Tata Nexon's ground clearance of 209mm is the best in the segment.
    • WR-V once again disappoints with narrowest tyres, second-lowest ground clearance and smallest fuel tank capacity.

    Amongst all the B2-segment SUVs, Tata Nexon has the highest ground clearance, so it should be the last car to bottom-out on uneven roads. Honda WR-V has the biggest boot in the segment, so it can carry maximum luggage.
