    • Hyundai Elite i20 starts at Rs. 6.50 lakh. Elite i20 Magna+ costs Rs. 1.21 lakh more than Tata Altroz's entry-level variant, which is the most affordable option in the B2 hatchback segment.
    • Elite i20 Asta(O) is priced at Rs. 8.31 lakh and that makes it the most expensive petrol manual in the B2 hatchback segment.

    Hyundai Elite i20 is available with a 1.2L petrol engine with a 5-speed transmission. The power and torque output of this engine are 83PS and 115Nm, respectively. Performance figures of this engine are on par for the segment. Only the Figo and Freestyle make noticeably more power and torque. Meanwhile, the Polo’s variants with normal petrol engines have a much lower than expected power and torque for this class.

    The fuel efficiency figures of the Hyundai Elite i20 petrol manual are 17.5kmpl and 18.01kmpl. The lower Magna Plus variant has an ARAI fuel efficiency of 18.01kmpl while higher variants have a fuel efficiency of 17.5kmpl.

    • Volkswagen Polo 1.0 turbo produces 110PS of power. It is the most powerful engine in the segment, having 27PS more power than Elite i20 1.2.
    • Volkswagen Polo 1.0 turbo produces 175Nm of peak torque. It has the best torque figures in the segment.
    • With a manual transmission, Maruti Suzuki Baleno hybrid has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 23.87kmpl.
    • With an automatic transmission, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has the best fuel-efficiency figure of 19.56kmpl.

    Volkswagen Polo 1.0 turbo petrol engine offers the best torque in this segment, so it is expected to offer better driveability compared to all other cars. If you're looking for a car with low running cost, then the Glanza hybrid or Baleno hybrid will be better since they’re the most fuel-efficient cars in this segment.

    Amongst all the B2 hatchbacks, Ford Freestyle has the highest ground clearance, so it should be the last car to bottom-out on uneven roads. Honda Jazz has the biggest boot in the segment, so it can carry maximum luggage.
