Skoda Rapid is 4413mm long, 1699mm wide, 1466mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2552mm. A wider body normally results in better shoulder room and a higher roof makes ingress & egress easier. A longer wheelbase usually results in more cabin space. It has a boot space of 460 litres. A larger boot allows you to carry more luggage. Rapid has a 168mm ground clearance, it rides on 195/55 R16 tyres size and has 55 litres fuel tank capacity.

    • New Honda City is the longest car in the segment. It is 136mm longer than Rapid.
    • New Honda City is the widest car in the segment. It is 49mm wider than Rapid.
    • Toyota Yaris is the tallest car in the segment. It is 29mm taller than Rapid.
    • Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has the longest wheelbase in the segment. Its wheelbase is longer than the Rapid’s by 98mm.
    • Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and old Honda City have the biggest boot space in the segment. They have 50-lt more boot space than the Rapid.
    • Toyota Yaris's ground clearance of 175mm is the best in the segment while the Vento has the lowest ground clearance of just 163mm.

Amongst all the C-segment sedans, Toyota Yaris has the highest ground clearance and the shortest wheelbase. Together, this combination gives it the best breakover angle to go over tall speed breakers with ease. The new City is the biggest car in this segment and it’s likely to have the best cabin space.

The launch of the Rapid means buyers who were looking for an affordable compact sedan now have two options - Ciaz and Rapid. The 1 entry-level variants of both the cars are priced under the Rs 8.5 lakh mark.
