Maruti Suzuki’s 12 cars have a petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki has no diesel or electric cars on sale in India. Maruti has a production facility in Gurugram/Gurgaon, Manesar and Ahmedabad. Maruti Suzuki currently has more than 3600 sales outlets/dealerships and more than 3800 service centres spread across the country.
With the launch of the S-Cross in 2015, Maruti Suzuki introduced a premium sales channel under the Nexa brand. Cars like the Ignis, Ciaz, XL6, Baleno and S-Cross are exclusively sold through the Nexa sales outlets. In 2017, Maruti Suzuki also started its Nexa service outlets to offer a premium ownership experience to its Nexa car buyers. In the same year, Maruti Suzuki also began rebranding its original sales channel as Arena. Maruti Suzuki also partners with Toyota and makes a rebadged version of the Baleno and Vitara Brezza. Toyota sells these cars as Glanza and Urban Cruiser.
Maruti has gone from offering a diesel engine in all cars starting with the Ignis all the way up to the S-Cross and Ciaz to now offering only petrol engines. In fact, in the BS4 era, Maruti only a diesel engine in the Brezza and SCross. While Maruti has marketed and invested heavily towards popularizing mild hybrids, the lack of punchy turbo petrol and efficient diesel engines is affecting its market share.
