This year’s Geneva Motor Show has been like its previous editions in the past years – a glittering event for innumerable new models, concepts, special editions and design study models from various automobile manufacturers around the world. French automaker Renault took advantage of the largest auto show in Europe this year by showcasing the latest model of its popular Duster SUV. However, the new Duster was showcased under Renault’s subsidiary Dacia brand name. Dacia unveiled the Duster Ultimate Edition at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show alongside the Ultimate Edition models for its Logan and Stepway offerings.
The Duster, Logan and Stepway are sold under the Renault brand name in some car markets of the world, while they are rebadged as Dacia models in some countries. The Ultimate Edition is a new special and limited edition, which offer sporty visual updates and updated features list. The Ultimate Edition comes in attractive exterior colour schemes Highland Grey and Fusion Red, in order to set the special edition apart from regular counterpart of the trio.
The Renault Dacia Duster Ultimate Edition is being displayed in its bright red avatar, which really looks gorgeous. All the Ultimate Edition models come with red trim inserts on the wing mirrors and side sills, while the inner door panels and air vent surrounds also get red accents. The sporty red colour highlight is also seen in the special edition model’s seat upholstery and floor mats. The cabin of the Ultimate Edition o all the three car models come with a light grey colour scheme that offers a great contrast look with the Fusion Red body colour. Both the Highland Grey and Fusion Red colour treatment are also given to the extended to the car’s alloy wheel with central hub cap in a red colour that comes with sporty contrasts with Silver Grey and Erbe Grey dual-tone alloys.
The 2019 Renault Duster Ultimate Edition also comes with enhanced equipments list. The popular compact SUV comes with Media NAV Evolution touchscreen infotainment system, automatic air conditioning, rear view camera and rear parking sensors as part of its standard package (same with all Ultimate Edition models). The Duster Ultimate Edition also gets endowed with a multi view camera system along with City Plus Pack which offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
The Duster Ultimate Edition will be launching in Europe within March 2019 alongside its introduction in 44 other global markets. When India is concerned, the market has to wait quite longer to receive this model as the 2nd generation is yet to launch here. Renault has not released the prices of the Ultimate Edition models.
The Renault Duster SUV will be also be boasting of new 1.3L TCe 130 GPF and 150 GPF petrol engine options, which have been developed byRenault collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. The TCe 130 GPF mill offers 130 PS / 240 Nm, while the 150 GPF unit is good to generate 150 PS / 250 Nm.
Renault Dacia posted record sales in 2018, as Dacia sold 700,798 vehicles in the global markets accounting to 7% increase cumulative sales growth over 2017. Moreover, the second generation Renault/Dacia was also voted the most popular SUV in Europe in its own segment.
