The Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automaker Audi has secured the 2nd place at the 14th edition of the Audi International Twin Cup competition’s ‘Technology’ category. The event held for two days at Saalfelden, Austria, from July 25-27 and saw the best teams of technicians and service advisors from 34 countries competing with others to prove themselves. In the ‘Technology’ category, the team from Slovakia performed impressively to win 1st place, Team India stood 2nd while the team from Australia grabbed the 3rd place.
Commenting on the win, Rahil Ansari, Head – Audi India said, “It is not easy to compete amongst 34 different technology teams that are well-versed with the technical knowledge and are highly efficient in their work. Overcoming these challenges, Audi India team fought hard and bagged the second slot in the ‘Technology’ category. By delivering on a framework moderated by Audi AG, the team from India has clearly validated that the Audi service and technical knowledge is clearly at par with the level of service offered worldwide by Audi. The Audi Twin Cup is an initiative to recognize our dealer partners who continuously strive towards delivering exceptional customer service. It is a proud moment for us to have bagged the second position in the ‘Technology’ category of the world finals of the Audi International Twin Cup 2018. This clearly displays the level of service expertise and technical knowledge of the Audi India team when it comes to consistent customer focus.”
Spanning 34 countries, around 2,500 teams from Audi dealers participated in the competition, out of which only 67 teams qualified for the international finals in Saalfelden. All the participants demonstrated their advisory skills and technical expertise in typical customer situations – ranging from the check-in inspection to diagnosing hidden defects and carrying out repairs according to manufacturer specifications. Hence, to secure the place in top two indicates the high-level skills seen in the Indian automotive industry workforce on a global scale, to boot.
Talking about the competition, the 14th edition of the Audi International Twin Cup competition included theoretical and practical tasks involved the Audi SQ7, with the priority given to customer focus. The participating teams underwent concrete challenges to demonstrate an effective use of the new, flexible core service process to provide individualized customer support. In order to put their technical skill and precision to the test, the technical inspection and guided troubleshooting for features like the 360 degree camera system was also conducted.
In other categories such as the ‘Service’, Team Japan claimed the top position, followed by Team Russia and Team United Kingdom, while Team India closed the top five teams in 5th place of the ‘Service’ category. Moving towards the ‘Twin’ category, France bagged the top spot. The Swiss team performed impressively to bag 2nd place, with the service technicians and advisors from the USA following closed in the 3rd place. Team India again stood at 5th position in the category.
