German luxury auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz continues to see strong sales growth in India. Mercedes-Benz has been the leading luxury car brand in India for quite some time, and now it reinforces its leading position in the country by recording its best ever third quarterly sales. Mercedes-Benz has ensured continued sales growth with its highly aggressive launch strategy. A robust product range and the incredible success of the new Long-Wheelbase E-Class Sedan are the key reasons behind this superb sales growth momentum for Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz India has been registering good growth momentum in the first half of 2017 (January to June) and went on to record its best ever 3rd quarter sales with a robust 41 percent sales jump by selling 4698 vehicles in the July to September period this year. Moreover, this sales increase is also Mercedes-Benz India’s highest ever sales in the entire January to September period with the sales of 11869 vehicles. This accounts for a sales increase of a good 19.6 percent as compared against the same period (January to September) in 2016, when the company managed to sell 9924 vehicles. The outstanding market performance in the third quarter of 2017 restates that the Indian luxury car buyers consistently prefer the Mercedes-Benz brand over the other luxury giants operating in India. This has been possible because of Mercedes-Benz’s persistent customer centric approach and aggressive new model launch.

One of the key contributors behind this record sales growth of Mercedes-Benz India is the all-new Long Wheelbase E-Class Sedan. Mercedes-Benz has been consistently focusing on a contemporary, fresh and comprehensive product portfolio for India with new generation models and a strong range of performance cars from its AMG brand. This robust product portfolio of the company has ensured that Mercedes-Benz remains on the top position in the Indian luxury car market. Among the new model launches this year, the Long Wheelbase E 220 d has proved to be a game changer for the brand and helped it to achieve the record sales with exceptional success and increasing demands in the market. The new Long Wheelbase E-Class Sedan has enabled Mercedes-Benz to gratify the increasing demands of the luxury sedans in India. On the other hand, the other bestselling products like the C-Class and the S-Class sedans also continue to be great volume gainers for the company.

Apart from the success of the sedans, Mercedes-Benz also experienced great growth in the luxury SUV segment in the period of January to September this year. In fact, the brand experienced more growth for its SUV growth which is followed by the growth in the sedan segment in the same period. The high-end models and the AMG performance models also continued to witness good growth momentum which has been stable from year on year sales.

While commenting on this great market performance of the company, the Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, Roland Folger said that the company confidently continues with its leadership position in the Indian luxury car market by recording its best ever sales growing by a record 41 percent in Q3. The company is very pleased to receive continued customer preference.
