New 2019 Porsche Macan Launched In India
The 2019 Porsche Macan facelift has been launched in India. The prices of the updated model start at Rs. 69.98 lakh and go up to Rs. 85.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-of-the-range Macan S. The Macan Turbo variant that was previously on sale has been dropped this time. The updated Macan was available for pre-launch bookings since June this year.
The Macan facelift takes design inspiration from the new Cayenne, which was introduced in India earlier this year. It comes with a handful of cosmetic updates including a redesigned front facia that makes it appear wider. The front end also appears sleeker with the incorporation of a new grille and sportier air dams. There are also redesigned headlights with all-LED lamps and refreshed LED tail lights inspired by the new 911.
The Macan facelift is available in four exterior colour choices, namely - Miami Blue, Crayon, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Mamba Green Metallic. There are also newly designed 20 inch and 21 inch alloys with a number of customization options.
On the inside, the refreshed Porsche Macan gets a redesigned dashboard with a new 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the Porsche Connect System. The steering wheel has been borrowed from the 911, while the aircon vents have been repositioned. The Macan facelift will also come with Porsche Connect Plus module to be fully connected along with the new 'off-road precision' application which can record and analyze off-road experiences on the vehicle.
Other noteworthy features on the Porsche SUV include three-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Buyers get an option to choose between Bose and Burmester sound systems, while there is a choice to opt for the Porsche Active Suspension Management suspension set-up as an upgrade from the standard air suspension.
The updated 2019 Macan comes powered by two engine options in two variants -- Macan and Macan S. The base version gets powered by a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of generating a maximum power of 247PS along with a peak torque of 370Nm. The Macan S is powered by the 3.0 litre V6 engine that pumps out 345PS of maximum power and 480Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Macan S can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 5.1 seconds with the Sports Chrono package, and offers a top speed of 254 kmph.
The refreshed 2019 Porsche Macan locks its horns with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, including the Audi Q5, BMW X5 and Jaguar F-Pace in India.
