Indian auto giant Mahindra is preparing to launch the Marazzo MPV during the festive season in the country and now, the manufacturer has officially revealed the interior of the upcoming MPV. The Mahindra Marazzo will be available in both 7-seat and 8-seat options. It seems like the manufacturer is creating more anticipation about the MPV by revealing the details one by one. Likely to be positioned just below or around the Mahindra XUV500, the U321 codenamed MPV, Marazzo derives its name from the sub-language of Spanish spelt as 'Marrazo' and the design of is inspired by a shark.
Developed by Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai along with Mahindra North America Technical Centre (MNATC), the design of the new Mahindra Marazzo is done by both Mahindra design studio and Pininfarina. According to the revealed interior images, the upcoming Marazzo MPV gets a bright cabin with light colored seats and a dual-tone dashboard with a piano-black finish and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will support the likes of Apple Car Play, Android Auto along with navigation and Bluetooth. The middle row seats will get the option of a single 3-seater or individual captain seats, while the third-row seats can be accessed by folding the second-row seats and the third-row seats can also be folded to increase the boot capacity on the Marazzo. Also, the third-row seats can get a bottle holder on each side, along with the addition of sun-shade for the first time.
Safety features like twin airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and rear parking sensors are expected to be standard in all the variants along with some additional features such as cruise control, rear parking camera and hill assist among others in the higher variants of the Marazzo. According to the reports, the new vehicle, co-developed by Mahindra's Chennai Research Valley and North American Technical Centre, will get the new 1.5-litre diesel motor which is speculated to offer 119 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The engine, initially, is expected to get a six-speed manual gearbox and an AMT or automatic transmission can be added at a later stage.
Earlier, the exterior details of the 2018 Marazzo had been revealed showing that the upcoming Mahindra Marazzo will be no different from other Mahindra vehicles by sporting the typical Mahindra styling and characteristics like the chrome-toothed grille, large sweptback headlamps with double barrel projector headlamps, sporty alloys, and larger vertically stacked tail-lamps. Hence, going with the name the manufacturer says that the design of the MPV is also inspired by the Shark and it will also be the largest footprint of any car till date.
In terms of prices, the upcoming Mahindra Marazzo is expected to be somewhere in between that of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta. When launched, the Mahindra Marazzo MPV will take against the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta and Tata Hexa in the segment. Apart from this, Mahindra is also redesigning its entire dealership network that will now be called as 'World of SUVs'. These dealerships will also get a new showroom inside the showroom to sell Mahindra's premium SUVs which will including the G4 Rexton and the Mahindra Marrazo.
