Updated Toyota Yaris Launched; Price Starts Lower Than Before

Toyota has updated the Yaris sedan and in the process, the carmaker has added new variants and reduced the car’s entry-level price. Like before, the Yaris continues to be available with a petrol engine only, and this engine is available with both manual and CVT-type automatic transmission options. In the updated Yaris, Toyota is now offering the option of dual-tone exterior option and new style alloy wheels.



The price of the updated Yaris starts from Rs 8.65 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is around Rs 64,000 less than the previous entry-level variant J. The price list (ex-showroom, India) of the 2019 Yaris is as follows:

The J (Option) and G (Option) variants, that have been introduced now, come with 3 airbags only, instead of 7 airbags that were offered as standard before. This is the only change in the features department for these variants over J and G.

In the V (Optional) variant, Toyota is offering the Yaris in dual-tone exterior paint scheme. The dual-tone exterior paint options are: red, grey, white and silver, all of which can be had with a black roof. 

The Yaris is still offered with the 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 107PS of maximum power and 140Nm of peak torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT. It continues to rival the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
