American auto major, Ford is all braced up to launch the updated new Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV in India very soon. Expected to launch during this year’s festive season in India, the new comprehensively updated EcoSport will boast of a new front fascia, more up-class look and feel, added new features and a new set of petrol mills.

Prior to the Indian debut of the new refreshed 2017 Ford EcoSport, check out the 5 most important things about the small SUV:

    1. More premium looks

When cosmetic changes are concerned, the subcompact SUV’s face primarily gets the most of the updates. The fully revamped front façade of the vehicle flaunts a new hexagonal radiator grille and bold and sharply styled new headlights which is in line with the new-age family of vehicles from Ford. The SUV also gets restyled front bumper as well as fog lamps. The side profile remains the same excepting the newly designed alloy wheels. At the rear, while the international version drops the tailgate mounted spare wheel, in India it will be retaining this feature as the Indian buyers love this tough proper SUV look. The tailgate mounted spare wheel will get a new cover for India. On the whole the EcoSport looks more premium and stylish.

    2. Revamped interior design

On the inside as well, the updated EcoSport also gets fair amount of changes. The dashboard retains its basic design, but there’s a new layout for the centre console. However, the primary attraction is a large touchscreen display integrated infotainment system. Ford also endows a new instrument cluster and a new steering wheel on the facelift EcoSport. The cabin also looks more up-class and flaunts trendy body coloured inserts replacing the silver inserts that are seen on the ongoing model.

    3. New petrol powertrains

The biggest highlight of the updated EcoSport launch is that Ford will be introducing its newly developed Dragon series of petrol engines in India under the hood of the EcoSport facelift model. There will be a 1.5 litre, 3 cylinder Dragon petrol mill that will be generating a max power of around 120 hp, while a more compact 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder Dragon petrol mill is also expected to join the lineup for the lower variants. The SUV’s other engine options will include the existing 1.5 litre diesel motor delivering 100 hp, while the highly acclaimed 1.0 litre Ecoboost petrol engine is also likely to continue.
