Japanese auto giant Honda Motor is working to boost its sales and strengthen its position among the top car makers of India in the face of very tough competitive. The Japanese automaker’s fully owned Indian subsidiary Honda Cars India has thus lined up a slew of new models to launch in the domestic car market of the country. This new launch strategy of Honda Cars India has already started with the launch of the second generation model of the Honda Amaze compact sedan. The all new Honda Amaze has been setting the sales chart ablaze ever since its launch in India earlier this year. The new Amaze has again become the fastest selling car and the most successful new launch from the house of Honda Cars India, overtaking the all-time hit Honda City.
The new Amaze has already witnessed the sales of more than 30,000 units within the first three months of its market launch in India. This makes the all new Honda Amaze the highest selling new model in Honda Cars India’s history of 2 decades in the country.
The first-gen Amaze had originally turned around Honda Cars India’s fate in a time crisis, and now its successor is contributing greatly to the sales performance of the company. Honda Cars India has recorded a cumulative sales growth of 12.5 percent in the time period of April – July 2018 buoyed by the superb market response to the all new Amaze.
Speaking on the success of the new generation Honda Amaze compact sedan, the Director of Sales & Marketing at Honda Cars India, Mr Makoto Hyoda said that the all new Amaze has been builton an all new platform and has been developed to a proper sedan from scratch rather than a hatchback-based one, and this makes it stand out in the crowd. The Indian customers have really appreciated this aspect of the car and accepted it very warmly. The company is grateful to its valued customers for this outstanding response that has made the all-new Amaze the most successful launch in Honda Cars India’s history.
The all new Honda Amaze sedan comes in both petrol and diesel choices. Its petrol version gets powered by a 1.2 litre engine that generates 88 Bhp of max power and 110 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel version packs in a 1.5 litre turbocharged oil burner that delivers 98 Bhp and 200 Nm. As the Indian market is experiencing growing demands for automatic sedan variants, the Amaze petrol CVT and the industry-first diesel CVT variants have made up 30 percent of the total sales.
Honda launched the all new Amaze first in the Indian car market, and just like its predecessor it has been developed keeping in mind the unique requirements and preferences of the Indian market.
