    Hyundai Venue vs Ford EcoSport: Price & Specs Comparison

    The sub-compact SUV by Hyundai, the Venue was launched in India on 15 May this year. The SUV successfully received more than 17,000 bookings within the first week and the manufacturer has already delivered 7,049 units of the Venue SUV to customers.

    This made the Venue surpass its rivals in the segment for the month. While Mahindra XUV300 sold 5,113 vehicles, Tata Nexon sold only 4,506 units. Though, Brezza is still the segment champion in terms of sales, selling 8,781 units in May 2019.

    The Hyundai Venue is 3995 mm in length, 1770 mm in width, 1605 mm in height, 2500 mm in wheelbase and 190 mm in ground clearance.     Powering the Hyundai Venue SUV is a 1.0-liter Kappa Turbo-GDI petrol motor that is good for 118 bhp and up to 172 Nm of torque. Offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox, it also has an option for a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Another petrol option is the 1.2-liter Kappa Dual VTVT engine that produces 82 bhp and up to 115 Nm of torque and it comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Then, there is the 1.4-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine making 88 bhp and up to 220 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

    In terms of Ford Ecosport, the SUV is available with a choice of three engines- a 1.5-liter petrol unit (121 bhp/ 150 Nm), a 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol unit (123 bhp/ 170 Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel unit (98 bhp/ 205 Nm). The 1.5-liter petrol engine is offered with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox while the 1.5-liter diesel only gets the 5-speed manual gearbox while the 1.0-liter EcoBoost variant also comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
