Jaguar India quite recently launched the locally assembled F-Pace with a massive price slash of Rs. 20 lakhs. Now, that is a big amount even for the deep pocketed luxury car buyers, so it really matters. Thus, the new 2018 Jaguar F-Pace became all the more alluring for its buyers in its India assembled avatar as it came at a very attractive package in November 2017.

When the F-Pace came with this attractive proposition, it was thought that it will slash down its features list significantly as well.  However, as a very pleasant surprise, the locally assembled Jaguar F-Pace doesn’t slash down any features, and adds some more on top of that. Thus, the India assembled F-Pace is a win-win situation for all the luxury car buyers.

The locally-assembled Jaguar F-Pace is offered in India in a single top-end Prestige trim. Jaguar has added in a lot of features as standard which were earlier as options. The snazzy crossover’s standard equipment list now includes adaptive LED headlights, 19 inch alloy wheels, 380W Meridian sound system, 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 12.3 inch virtual TFT instrument cluster, electric reclining rear seats, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, activity key and more, which were earlier part of the optional package on the fully imported F-Pace 2.0D Prestige trim.

Apart from these added features, the other continued features of the fully loaded F-Pace includes Taurus leather seat upholstery, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, navigation, keyless entry and go, tyre pressure monitor system and much more. Nevertheless, it still does miss a handful of features from the kit such as the power tailgate open, ventilated or massaging functionality for the seats, lumbar support for front seats and the 360-degree camera. The Jag now comes with a space saving spare tyre replacing the full-sized one on the imported model.

The cabin has been retained as it was. The interior styling and premium material quality remain unchanged. The roomy and airy cabin owing to the extensive glass area and the luxurious seating arrangement – all remain the same.

Under the hood, the updated 2018 Jaguar F-Pace has dropped the spunky 300 hp 3.0L V6 diesel motor and replaced it with a new 179 hp 2.0L Ingenium diesel motor coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD system. This diesel motor is not that powerful like the superb V6, but feels just sufficient. However harsh engine noise is audible at higher speeds. Nevertheless, the F-Pace remains a star performer when ride, handling and maneuvering are concerned. Its butter smooth ride is simply mesmerizing.

To put in a nutshell, the locally-assembled Jaguar F-Pace is a great value for money sporty crossover model, which offer way more than before. The punchy 3.0L V6 motor will be missed, but there is nothing else to complain about. With a great slashed down price and a host of added features, the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace offers so much more value, and is a perfect choice for the Indian luxury SUV buyers.
