    Mahindra Bolero Power Plus First Impressions

    Mahindra launched Bolero way back in 2005 and ever since it has been a strong contender in the utility vehicle segment. Recently the company has unveiled a new Bolero called the Bolero Power Plus and this is a more powerful Bolero with a fuel efficiency that is 5% greater than the current model and it yields a fierce power output of 70bhp. So what is signature about the Bolero Power Plus, let us explore the interesting features.

So what is signature about the Bolero Power Plus, let us explore the interesting features.

    Interior:

    What is new and exciting about the interior of Bolero Power Plus, step inside and you will be greeted by a spacious cabin, and the trick here is the presence of huge glass area. There light dual tone seat upholstery is awesome and creates a homely atmosphere and there is ample headroom and the structure of the dashboard is neat. There is plenty leg and shoulder space and five occupants can sit comfortably and there are jump seats at the rear and this is well-suited for kids.  The concern is the digital instrument cluster is not positioned to offer good visibility to the driver and the power window switch console is fitted behind the handbrake lever. For people who really enjoy music, there is a world-class Kenwood system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity.

    Ride and Handling:

    The ride efficiency of Bolero Power Plus is commendable and it can move on any kind of lane with ease with no room for any kind of imbalance. The leaf spring suspension at the rear contributes to a minimal bumpy ride. The light steering facilitates efficient maneuvering contributed by the huge 6 meter turning radius.

    The Bolero Power Plus is a shorter but a more powerful variant of Bolero, and for people who are keen to experience superior Bolero power and excitement, then this is a great car to buy. It is sold at a price of Rs 6.59 to 7.86 lakhs and there are three variants on offer, Bolero Power +SLE the base variant, Bolero Power + SLX and Bolero Power+ ZLX.

    Engine:

    The Bolero Power Plus has a stronger engine capacity, although it is a 1.5-liter mHawk engine, a shorter variant of the 2.6-liter m2DiCR mill fitted in the Bolero. This 1.5-liter power-train is more powerful and it churns potent energies of 195Nm and 71PS greater than the existing car by 8PS. The noise, vibration and harshness levels are low compared to the Bolero.

    The car moves on an impressive 16.5kmpl mileage and sources say the drive rhythm of the car is smooth and the smoothness is felt even when the load inside is heavy. The shift between gears is handy as well, and on the whole the Bolero Power Plus is a comfortable car to drive in.
