MG Hector vs Hyundai Creta - Which Diesel SUV To Buy At Rs 15 Lakh?

by Lakshya Khanna on Tuesday, Jul 02 2019

The Creta diesel’s SX variant is more expensive than the base-spec Hector, but it’s also more loaded and justifies the incremental value by way of extra features it offers.

With an ex-showroom price of under Rs 14 lakh, both these variants of the diesel-manual versions of the respective SUVs will cost around Rs 15 lakh on road.

The Hector is the bigger car compared to the Creta and it is also gets a more powerful engine. Given its larger size, it is also likely to offer a roomier cabin over the Creta. With the recline option available for second row, those looking for a chauffeur-driven SUV can go for the Hector.

If, however, what you want is value for money in terms of the equipment you get, the Creta SX should be your choice over the Hector Style. Apart from some feel-good features like wireless charger and push-button start stop with smart entry, it also gets some basic features that we expect any car around the Rs 15 lakh mark to offer, like rear parking camera, steering-mounted audio controls and auto AC.
