South Korean automaker Kia officially unveiled the second generation Kia K900 flagship sedan at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. The new 2019 K900 is aimed to be a value-driven luxury sedan model just like its predecessor. The new-gen K900 promises to offer premium look and feel and luxurious experience that can rival many top-notch luxury sedans, but with a considerably lower price tag.
The all new Kia K900 is based on the amazing Genesis G90 and looks more sophisticated with a more exclusive charm than its predecessor. Under its hood, there is a twin-turbocharged V6 that’s shared by the more premium Genesis G80, G90 and the Kia Stinger, along with all-wheel drive system as standard.
The sophisticated and elegant second generation K900 is tag bigger than the outgoing model. It has a wheelbase that is 2.3 inch longer and an overall length increase of an inch. Kia claims that latest K900 boasts of a more rigid body than the first-gen model.
The Kia K900 has really upped the ante on the inside. There are tons of metal accents and four different types of open-pore and matte finished wooden trims. There is a lengthy list of features including heated and ventilated front seats, 20-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 16-way adjustable front passenger seat, the second-row settings can be personalized, 14-way adjustable rear seats with recline seatback function and optional heated and ventilated seats, a 12.3 inch touch-screen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 7 inch instrument cluster and a 12.3 inch option, a 9.7 inch head-up display, a 900-watt, 17-speaker Harman Kardon/Lexicon audio system, which is the most premium audio system in a Kia model, and much more.
Under the hood, the 3.3L twin-turbocharged V6 mill generates a top power of liter 365 hp. This powerful and refined engine gets paired with a sophisticated 8 speed automatic transmission that is combined with an AWD system as standard, as compared against the rear-wheel-driven previous model.
As per Kia, the all new K900 comes with upgraded front and rear suspensions to offer quicker and smoother turns and better handling than before. There will be an electronically controlled suspension system on offer which continuously reacts to road conditions.
The new-gen Kia K900 is also big on advanced safety systems and includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and driver-attention warning systems. There is also Blind Spot View Monitor with live video feed, and an innovative Safe Exit Assist system which keeps a watch for potential risks while opening the doors. This system prevents the door to open, if it detects a fast approaching vehicle from behind.
The all new Kia K900 is really an impressive full-size luxury sedan model that comes with a tag comparable to renowned luxury brand’s midsize sedans. The first-gen K900 was a very low selling model. Hopefully with all its capabilities and new improvements, the all new K900 would be able draw much more buyers than before.
