Tata Harrier is one of the most loved SUVs since its launch in the Indian market. The SUV is available in four variants- XE, XM, XT, and XZ. Toyota Innova is one of the best-sellers SUV by the Japanese automaker in the country. The SUV is available in three variants- GX, VX, and ZX and comes with a number of features like automatic climate control, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation, cruise control and rear parking camera (display on infotaiNment screen) with sensors among others. As compared to Tata Harrier’s 4598 mm length, 1894 mm of width, 1,706 mm of height, 2,741 mm of wheelbase and 200 mm of ground clearance, the Toyota Innova measures 4735 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, 1795 mm in height, 2750 mm in wheelbase and 176 mm of ground clearance. This means that the Innova is longer, taller and offers larger wheelbase compared to Tata Harrier, while the Harrier is wider and offers more ground clearance compared to Toyota Innova.
Tata Harrier vs Toyota Innova: Powertrain Comparison
In terms of powertrain, the Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that churns out 138 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is the same engine that also powers the Jeep Compass with a higher state of tune. Tata offers the Harrier with a 6-speed manual transmission only, while an AMT version is under production. The manufacturer doesn’t offer the petrol engine option with the Harrier.
On the other hand, the Innova SUV is available with three engine options- 2.7-liter petrol, 2.4-liter diesel, and 2.8-liter diesel. The 2.7-liter petrol engine produces 164 bhp of power and 245 Nm of torque while the 2.4-liter and 2.8-liter diesel engines produce 148 bhp with 343 Nm and 172 bhp with 360 Nm torque respectively. The 2.4-liter diesel and the 2.7-liter petrol engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, on the other hand, the 2.8-liter diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This automatic transmission is also offered with the 2.7-liter petrol engine as optional.
