    1. Abarth Punto 

    Fiat brought the Abarth Punto to offer some serious performance and sporty looks. The Abarth Punto is the most powerful and quickest in the hot-hatch segment and is definitely worth the buyers’ interests. It is powered by a 1.4L T-jet petrol engine delivering 145 PS of power and 212 Nm of top torque, making it the most powerful model in sub-Rs. 15 lakhs price slab. The car sprints from 0-100kmh in 9.17 seconds. It also gets a stiffer suspension and is low slung. All-four disc brakes ensure the fast car offer strong stopping power as well. It flaunts sporty styling elements and Abarth graphics, while 16 inch alloys for better grip and stability. It is priced at Rs 9.67 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

     

    2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS

    The Baleno is a highly popular premium hatchback in India, and its RS variant makes things more interesting. The charming looks of the Baleno is enhanced by the sporty elements and added power of RS version. The Baleno RS packs in a new 1.0L turbocharged EcoBoost petrol mill that generates 102 PS and 150 Nm and is paired with a new 5 speed manual transmission. The car can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 10.52 seconds. All disc brakes ensure that the sporty hatch offers great stopping power as well. The Baleno RS is tagged at Rs. 8.37 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

     

    3. Volkswagen Polo GT TSI

    The veteran player in the Indian hot-hatch segment is the Polo GT TSI. It packs in a 1.2L turbocharged petrol mill offering 105 PS and 175 Nm and is coupled with a refined 7 speed DSG transmission, making it the model in the segment with an automatic DSG transmission. The GT TSI can run from 0-100kmph in 10.61 seconds, and offers front disc brakes and ESP to offer high-speed safety. The model is priced at Rs. 9.19 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

     

    4. Ford Figo S

    The Figo S is a sporty and fun car to drive that is light on your pocket too. The Figo S is powered by the same 1.5L diesel and 1.2L petrol mills as the regular Figo. However, it certainly looks and feels sportier with chunky larger tyres, 15inch alloy wheels and a stiffer suspension system allowing effortless high speed maneuverings, better road grip and great control. The Figo S costs Rs. 6.48 lakhs for the petrol version, while the diesel avatar is tagged at Rs. 7.49 lakhs (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

    5. Fiat Urban Cross

    Another sporty offering from Fiat, the Urban Cross is a hatch-turned-crossover model and is based on the Avventura Crossover. It gets the same 1.4L T-jet petrol mill as the Abarth Punto, but is a tad less powerful offering 140 PS and 210 Nm. It is equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission. It offers raised ground clearance of 210 mm and Abarth badging to offer better ride and attitude. It is tagged at Rs. 9.77 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
