    Upcoming car launches in India in FY 2017-18

    While this current year will witness the launch of many more new cars before it ends, there are several vehicle models which are slated to launch early next year within the ongoing financial year of 2017-18. Take a look at some of these expected upcoming launches:

    Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

    Japanese automaker, Nissan has many planned models for India, one of which is the X-Trail hybrid version. The X-Trail SUV was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in India. It will be an imported car with an expected price range of around Rs. 35 lakh.

     

    Hyundai i20 N Sport

    Hyundai wishes to enter the growing hot hatch segment of India with its i20 N Sport. This sportier version of the Elite i20 hatchback will go up against the likes of the Maruti Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. It will get powered by a 1.4 litre petrol mill that can generate a max power of 114 bhp and 160 Nm of torque.

     

    Maruti Ciaz 2018

    Maruti Suzuki India will bring in the facelift version of the Ciaz soon to maintain its leading position in India’s C-segment. The new Ciaz will get good amount of cosmetic and feature updates. It will also get a 1.6 litre diesel engine option along with the existing engine options of a 1.4 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel units.

     

    Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

    The petrol version of the massively successful Vitara Brezza has been long awaited. Maruti will certainly launch the petrol version of the subcompact SUV, as petrol cars are again back in the favourite list of Indian car buyers given the stringent pollution laws. The petrol avatar of the Vitara Brezza will be powered by a 1.2 litre K-Series mill.

     

    Next Generation Maruti Swift 2017

    The highly popular Swift hatch’s demands have been a bit slacking. So, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new generation Swift to recast its spell. It will have all new design language and much more premium appeal. The new-gen Swift hatchback is likely to retain the same engine options of 1.2 litre K-series petrol and 1.3 litre MJD diesel units.

     

    2017 Nissan Micra

    Nissan is also planning to bring in the fifth generation Micra by March 2018. The new generation Micra hatchback was showcased at 2016 Paris motor show. Internationally, the new Micra will get powered by a range of diesel and petrol mill, but for the Indian car market, there’s yet no confirmation. The new-gen Micra is expected to be priced in the range of around Rs. 6 – 9 lakhs.

     

    Datsun Go-Cross

    The Go-Cross is based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF A platform which also underpins the Renault Kwid and the Datsun Redi Go hatchback models. The crossover shares many things with the Go+ MPV. It offers proper crossover looks and comes with a great set of rugged wheels which enhance the tough and rugged appeal of the vehicle. The Go-Cross is speculated to be getting powered by the 1.5 litre K9K turbocharged diesel motor that powers the Renault Duster SUV. The engine is expected to get paired to a 5 speed manual transmission.
