The all new Mercedes-Benz GLS test mule was obviously covered in thick camouflage to hide its new design language, but its patent bold appeal could not be hidden. The new-gen GLS will be endowed with huge upgrades which including semi-autonomous technology, while there will also be a plug-in hybrid version on offer.

The all new Mercedes GLS will be underpinned by the new MHA platform which will offer great structural changes to the SUV. The new advanced platform is likely to slash a great amount of weight off the SUV, while improving structural rigidity at the same time. The new model will be packing more advanced and more numbers of technologies as compared to the ongoing model. The new-gen GLS is expected to retain its three row, 7-seater interior layout, while offer better comfort and space along with amazing techs. Mercedes-Benz is expected to endow the semi-autonomous driving technology on the all new GLS borrowed from the new S-Class and E-Class models.

When design is concerned, the highly camouflaged GLS test prototype reveals an imposing design that comes with the usual boxy silhouette. It will be flaunting a massive front grille that is flanked by beautifully designed headlights. The SUV also gets a massive bulgy bonnet which is similar to the X-Class concept. The test prototype seemed to be having similar dimensions as that of the ongoing GLS, but could be a tag larger.

Under the hood, the all new 2019 GLS is expect to be coming fitted with good options of both petrol and diesel engines, while there will also be a plug-in hybrid model on offer. On the other hand, the regular all new Mercedes-Benz GLS will fight it out with the likes of the Volvo XC90, Audi Q7 and the upcoming BMW X7.
