Japanese auto major Honda Motors is bracing up to launch a slew of new models in the car market of India in order to reclaim its lost position in the top car makers list in the country. One of the planned upcoming launches from the house of Honda Cars India is the new generation Honda CR-V compact premium SUV model. The Japanese car manufacturing giant had introduced the new generation CR-V to India at the 2018 Auto Expo, in February. Honda Cars India is expected to bring its all new CR-V SUV to India officially during this year’s festive season. The all new Honda CR-V comes with tons of new stuff to allure the Indian premium SUV buyers.
First and foremost, the new generation Honda CR-V SUV will be coming in a 7-seater version to India for the first time ever. While in the international markets, the new CR-V also comes in the 5-seater configuration choice, India is expected to get only the 7-seater version of the premium SUV. Moreover, the all new CR-V will also come in its diesel version in the car market of India, alongside the petrol version. It is based on a stronger chassis and comes with new styling, added new features as well as enhanced safety equipments.
According to Honda, the new generation CRV is one of the safest vehicles on sale, as it is based on a new-age sturdy chassis that offers enhanced body rigidity, which results in higher level of safety. Moreover, the new chassis also aids in offers improved ride, handling and body stability.
When it comes to the under the hood mechanical specifications, as already mentioned above, Honda cars India will now also be offering the diesel avatar of the new-gen CR-V SUV. Nevertheless, the India spec version will not be getting powered by the same twin turbocharged 1.6 litre diesel motor that does the duty under the hood of the global CR-Vs diesel models. Instead, the Indian version of the all new CR-V will be getting powered by a single turbocharged diesel motor, which will have the capability to churn out the max power output of 120 hp along with a peak torque of 300 Nm.
The engines will get paired to the same sophisticated 9 speed automatic transmission gearbox which will be carried forward from the outgoing model along with the shortened gearing system as well. When the performance is concerned, the new CR-V SUV will offer robust performance as usual. The India-spec all new CR-V can do the 0 to 100 km per hour sprint in only 11.2 seconds, in comparison, the international version is just a tad faster and does the same speed sprint in just 9.7 seconds. Thus, the difference is really not noticeable.
The all new Honda CR-V SUV is expected to launch in India with a price tag of around Rs. 28 lakhs. The new generation CR-V will be locking its horns with the other premium SUV models on sale in Indian car market such as the Toyota Fortuner, the Skoda Kodiaq and the likes.
