The new Mercedes-Benz GLE continues to get spotted while it is busy testing the roads. A test mule of the updated Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV was recently spotted testing, and the spy pics have also offered a sneak-peek at its interiors as well. Although the entire cabin could not be ascertained in the new set of spy shots, a glance at the new dashboard of the all new GLE could be achieved.

The new dashboard of the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE seems to have been endowed with the company’s new MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment unit. The brand new MBUX infotainment system is supported by Mercedes’ latest artificial intelligence (AI), and is getting braced up to make its market debut on the all new Mercedes A-Class which is set to be officially unveiled on 2nd February, 2018.

Although Mercedes-Benz had earlier said that the new MBUX infotainment system will be only used in its compact models, now it seems from the new spy shots that the company might offer the new Linux-based smart infotainment unit on its other models as well, such as the new GLE.

The German luxury auto major had first introduced the new MBUX infotainment system at the 2018 Consumer Electronic Show, announcing that the unit will be getting series production in this year in the new generation A-Class. This new infotainment system can be customized and it also adapts according to the user’s preferences. Thus, this infotainment unit effectively creates a connection between the vehicle and its occupants, while also allowing over the air updates to add to the conveniences.

The new infotainment system includes a high-resolution Widescreen Cockpit along with touchscreen functionality, navigation display with enhanced reality technology and intelligent voice control along with natural speech recognition capabilities, which gets activated as the user utters the words "Hey Mercedes".

The current generation model of the Mercedes-Benz GLE was first introduced in early 2015, which was essentially the evolved version of the old ML-Class. The Stuttgart based company has been working on the new refreshed version of the GLE for quite some time now. The updated version of the German SUV is expected to get officially launched before the current calendar year ends.

When exterior styling updates are concerned, the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is expected to get considerable cosmetic updates, but nothing concrete can be yet told, as the test prototype models have been always caught by the spying cameras with heavy camouflages in place. Thus, the exterior design changes are still in the dark. It is known that the new refreshed GLE SUV will be getting underpinned by the MRA platform, which also underpins the new generation E-Class and recently introduced new CLS.

The new Mercedes GLE’s under the hood specs and engine range are also not known as yet. However, Mercedes-Benz has announced it is planning to replace the V6 mill with new in-line six motors. This means that the new Mercedes-Benz GLE might become one of the very first models to get powered by the newly developed flat-six engines.
