The next generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class has got spied once again, and a set of new spy shots are doing the rounds on the internet. The recent spotting of the new A-Class has offered a sneak-peek at the car’s cabin as well. The next generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class has got spied once again, and a set of new spy shots are doing the rounds on the internet. The recent spotting of the new A-Class has offered a sneak-peek at the car’s cabin as well. Going by the new spy shots, the most noteworthy new update that could be ascertained in the spied prototype model is an all-digital instrument cluster which has replaced the conventional instrument cluster featuring analogue dials and physical needles.

However, this all-new all-digital instrument console could be a feature exclusive for the range topping model, but still is a highly appreciable new addition. Recently, the exterior design language of the all new A-Class has been also revealed by a set of spy pictures. And going by the look of the model, it seems to be pretty much production ready with its final design quite in place. Thus, it is expected that the new generation Mercedes A-Class would hit the global market for sale by mid-2018.

Coming back to the spied cabin design of the A-Class, the last time it was spied, some amount of camouflage was visible, while the dashboard could be seen quite clearly. The new floating type display and the three air conditioner vents along with glossy black bezels can be clearly seen at the centre. As per the images, Mercedes-Benz has also endowed a classier button setup. However, we don’t know what the centre console looks like, as it is still camouflaged. The steering wheel also looks like a dummy unit and not the actual one that will be used. The dual display setup seems to be a very comprehensive one, but it doesn’t look as sleek and neat as compared to the setup that can be found on the new E-Class. The prototype could also be seen sporting an illuminated engine start/stop pushbutton that has been placed beside the A.C vents (expect to see this on the other side on the India-spec model).

Going by the previous spy images, it has been already reported that the all new Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be coming with a whole array of exterior styling updates which includes new LED headlights, a refreshed grille design, newly designed alloy wheels and much more. The new A-Class is underpinned by the MFA 2 platform, the 2018 A-Class will using aluminium construction to shed some weight while offering higher rigidity. It is also likely to grow in size and get a longer wheelbase. This should result into a roomier cabin.

When mechanical bits are concerned, the all new A-Class will pack in a 1.6 litre or a 2 litre petrol mill, and a 2 litre or a 1.5 litre diesel engine choice. The engines will get paired to a 9 Speed DCT gearbox as standard, while a 6 Speed manual transmission could also be there for the global markets, while it is not expected to be offered in India. The next-gen Mercedes A-Class is expected to have its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and its Indian launch is likely to happen towards the end of 2018.
