Mercedes-Benz is super busy preparing the new models of many of its highly popular vehicles, and one of them is the all new GLE. The new 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE has been spotted testing quite a few times, and has been caught again recently. This time around, the test prototype model of the new GLE has been caught by the spying cameras in Stuttgart traffic. The spy video shows the usual fully camouflaged test mule of the new GLE, but it reveals headlights which will be seen in the final production model. Thus, this indicates that the new Mercedes GLE SUV is certainly inching closer to its market debut.
When the exterior styling is concerned, the new upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE will be endowed with a new more alluring design language which is in line with the rest of the new Merc models. It will be similar to the styling of the new CLS, however the headlights that have been seen on the recently spotted GLE test mule, having more conventional shape and styling.
However, it is good to mention at this point of time that the headlights we are talking about won’t be the only option which Mercedes will be offering on the new GLE. In an earlier spy video clip, a different headlight cluster design was spotted. Thus, there will be multiple headlight cluster layout options that will be available on the new Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV.
The second generation model of the high riding Merc will be an all-new model and will be much more contemporary and superior quality than the first-gen model. The all new GLE will be coming with a myriad of new design elements that will be reminiscent of the other new generation models from the house of Mercedes-Benz. The new GLE will get a sleeker upper side and rugged features for its lower part. The more rugged looking wheel arches are likely to be reminiscent of the next generation G-Class, which is in its advanced development stages and is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show in January.
The all new GLE luxury SUV will be based on Mercedes-Benz’s MHA platform that will be increasing the vehicle’s torsional rigidity. It will enhance the SUV’s handling as well as the already butter smooth ride quality.
For the performance-buffs, the GLE will show a new face in its powerful AMG versions. The AMG line-up is expected to add at least one hybrid variant alongside the 63 and 63 S variants which are a given. The new hybrid version might be coming wearing the 50 or 55 logo and is expected to have a hybrid setup involving a straight-six engine and electric motor.
The standard versions of the all new 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV is expected to be unveiled in a few months from now, while the Mercedes-AMG versions of the new-gen SUV should come after about a year, following the usual norm of the company.
