We all know that Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the all-new Ertiga this year in the country. The Indo-Japanese automaker recently launched a limited edition Ertiga and now the upcoming Ertiga facelifts’ interior has been spied revealing the 6-speed manual transmission as well. Currently, the outgoing model comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which comes mated to both the petrol and diesel engine, along with an optional 4-speed torque converter for the petrol model.

According to the spied images, the interior of the upcoming Ertiga MPV will be offered in an all-new look with dual tone black and white shade, a new dashboard with larger horizontal air-con vents, a touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control among others. Apart from offering the 7-seater with a 6-seater model as option, it will also offer the 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel like the new Swift and maybe the twin-pod instrument cluster also.

At the outside, the MPV will be bigger than the outgoing model. Based on the Maruti Suzuki’s new Heartect platform, the model has been launched in the Indonesian market measuring 4,395 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height, with the wheelbase that remains unchanged at 2,740 mm. The same model is expected to be launched in the Indian market as well. While the diesel powertrain option has been almost revealed and only the official confirmation from Maruti is pending but it is expected to offer company's new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine to replace the existing Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine. Now, we can expect that the same engine will come mated to this new 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of petrol motor, we can expect the existing 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine to be continued with the 5-speed manual gearbox. However, Maruti Suzuki might also replace the existing 4-speed automatic torque converter with the new AMT system sourced from Magneti Marelli.

The safety features include rear parking sensors, push button start/stop, rain sensing wipers, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. The MPV is expected to be launched during the festive season in the country. Stay tuned to for further updates on the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga for the Indian market.
