The Indian car market is always witnessing multiple new car model launches from various manufacturers every month, and this year has been no different. So far this year, the auto industry of India has witnessed whole lot of new car launches, and this is going to continue till the end of the year. Among all types of cars in India, sedans have been highly favoured as comfortable family cars. Well, the sedan market has dampened quite a bit with the advent of compact and very stylish SUV models, which are grabbing attention of the urban Indian car buyers away from the sedans. Nevertheless, sedans continue to be popular, for their sheer comfort, space and elegant appearance.
Here are the few sedan model launches that are expected to take place in the car market of India within this year. Check them out:
Tata Tigor JTP
The Tata Tigor compact sedan has received good success owing to its stylish design and plethora of features. Based on the popular Tata Tiago hatchback, the Tigor sedan is a worthy car to invest in. It is already known that the Tiago is going to get a hot version, which is being created by Tata Motors in association with Jayem Automotives. Along with the Tiago, the Tigor will also receive a hot version. Known as the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP, the hatch and sedan twins will both be getting powered by a 1.2L turbocharged petrol mill, which offers 110 PS of power along with 150 Nm of torque. The cars will also get performance-tuned transmission as well as suspension. Thus, expect the Tigor JTP to be a real hot sedan to lure fun drive loving buyers.
Moreover, the Tigor JTP will also get some cosmetic updates for a sportier appeal. There will also be some updates on the inside as well to make it a great new package. The hot Tata Tigor JTP is likely to launch towards the end of 2018.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift
The highly popular Maruti Suzuki Ciaz premium sedan is bracing up to launch in India in its facelift avatar in August, 2018. The Ciaz will get a comprehensive facelift with a fully new front fascia and other styling updates all around including new stylish LED tail lights. The car will also get some interior updates along with new added features.
Under the hood, the Ciaz’s 1.4 litre petrol mill will be replaced with a more potent 1.5 litre unit. Both the petrol and diesel version of the sedan will get the SHVS mild hybrid technology for enhanced fuel economy and lower emissions.
Refreshed Ford Aspire
The new updated Ford Aspire is likely to launch very soon in the coming weeks. The Aspire facelift will get similar exterior and interior updates as that of the Figo facelift. On the inside there will be the latest Ford SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system among other updates.
The Aspire’s 1.2 litre TiVCT petrol mill will be replaced by the new 1.2 litre Dragon series petrol engine. The new 1.5 litre Dragon engine is also expected on the automatic variant of the Aspire facelift.
