The price increase of the Aura S variant over the base E variant is worth it, as it offers value for money. According to our internal data, the S variant justifies its asking price with all its added features. As the S variant covers all the basic features that are trending in the current times and it is worth the upgrade over the E variant, we suggest you buy at least this variant of the Aura. However, if you can stretch your budget over the S variant, then you should definitely check the higher variants, as the S is not our top recommended variant.
The Aura Petrol S variant is also available with the AMT type automatic transmission option. The S AMT variant offers 4 additional features over the features list of the MT version -- R15 Steel Wheel, Turn Indicators on Outside Mirrors, Electric Folding ORVM and Chrome Finish Gear Knob.
The S AMT is around Rs 50,000 more expensive than the S MT version. If you are looking for an Aura petrol automatic variant, then you can choose the S AMT variant, as it offers all the basic as well as some additional important features.

If you choose to fit in a CNG kit from the aftermarket, then it will be cheaper. However, we recommend that you spend a bit extra and choose the manufacturer fitted CNG version of the Aura, as this is a safer bet.

The SX variant is Rs 74,000 more expensive than the S variant, and its worth the additional premium as it adds in a lot of additional features. When compared with the base E variant, the SX variant again justifies its price difference. The Hyundai Aura Petrol SX variant is our top recommended variant, as it offers most of the preferred features that the buyers expect in a modern-day car.
Hyundai Aura SX+ AMT Variant

When compared to the price of the S AMT variant, the SX+ AMT costs around Rs 1 lakh more. The additional features of the SX+ variant over the S variant justify this price gap. Thus, the SX+ AMT is worth the additional premium whether compared to the SX MT or the S AMT variant.

The Aura SX+ variant is also offered with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. This variant will cost you Rs 1.25 lakh more than the 1.2-litre SX variant. In this variant, apart from the more powerful turbocharged engine, you will also get 4 additional cosmetic add-ons, which make it appear sportier than the regular 1.2-litre petrol version. These features are: Glossy Black Surround on Grille, All Black Interiors with Red Inserts, Dark Grey Honeycomb Patterned Crashpad and Dark Grey Metal Finish Door Handles.
Moreover, the SX+ Turbo also offers 3 more added features over the SX variant. These are: Wireless Phone Charger, Projector Headlamps and Automatic AC.
It is important to note here, that although the Aura’s 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is more powerful than the 1.2-litre engine, it is not a hardcore performance oriented version. This is because this variant gets the same suspension and handling characteristics as that of the regular Aura. We feel that for the 1.0-litre engine and some cosmetic updates and features the additional premium of Rs 1.25 lakh is not worth spending.

Which Variant Of The 2020 Hyundai Aura Petrol Should You Buy?
After assessing all the variants of the Hyundai Aura petrol, the SX is our top recommended variant. This is because it offers you all the required features that will enhance your drive experience, while also offering some good-to-have modern-day features. Moreover, the SX variant justifies its price difference over the S, and even the base E variant.
In case you don’t wish to extend your budget to get the SX variant, then you can settle for the S variant, as the S variant also justifies its value over the base E variant. As for the SX(O) variant, it doesn’t justify its cost and we wouldn’t recommend it.
For those who wish to opt for the automatic transmission of the Aura, there are 2 options to choose from - S AMT and SX+ AMT. Although the S AMT covers all the basic required features, we recommend to go for the SX+ AMT variant instead.
For those buyers who wish to go for the CNG version, there’s just a sole S variant of the Aura. The S variant comes with a company fitted CNG kit. This would be a bit expensive as compared over an aftermarket installed CNG kit, but it’s worth it if you wish to get the benefit of the manufacturer warranty.
Finally, for the buyers who are looking for better performance and sportier interior, there’s only the SX+ 1.0L Turbo Petrol variant to opt for.
