If you are looking for the comfort of captain seats or 3-row SUV, then you will find that the well-priced Prestige variant will meet your needs very well. 2021 Hyundai Alcazar Petrol Prestige vs Platinum Variant
The price difference between the Hyundai Alcazar Prestige and Platinum variants is Rs. 1.92 lakh for the 7-seat layout with manual transmission and Rs. 1.63 lakh for the 6-seat setup and automatic transmission. That’s right. The mid-spec Platinum variant of the Alcazar petrol is only available in the 7-seat configuration with the manual transmission and in 6-seat format with the automatic.
The Hyundai Alcazar Platinum petrol manual (7-seat) costs Rs. 18.22 lakh while the petrol automatic (6-seat) costs Rs. 19.56 lakh (ex-showroom). The price difference between the manual and automatic transmissions of the Alcazar Platinum petrol variant is Rs. 1.34 lakh. Negating the Rs. 15,000 cost for the upgrade to captain seats in the middle row brings this difference to a very reasonable Rs. 1.19 lakh.

- Power adjustable driver seat
- Leather upholstery
- Puddle lamps
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Headrest cushions in the second row

Some of these features are downright must-haves for some buyers, like the extra airbags. Meanwhile, some features of the Platinum variant are well-priced but with high emotional value, like a Bose sound system, powered driver seat and larger alloy wheels.
While the Alcazar Platinum petrol is well-priced compared to the Prestige variant, it doesn’t have enough must-have features to earn our wholehearted recommendation. It is, however, worth upgrading from the base trim, especially with the automatic transmission, as the price jump is smaller for this variant.
2021 Hyundai Alcazar Petrol Platinum vs Signature Variant
The price difference between the Alcazar Platinum petrol and Signature variant is Rs. 49,000 with the manual transmission and Rs. 30,000 with the automatic. Note that the Alcazar Signature petrol is only available in the 6-seat configuration. So, negating the Rs. 15,000 additional cost for upgrading from bench middle row seats to captain seats brings the realistic price difference between the Platinum and Signature variants to a reasonable Rs. 34,000 for the manual transmission.
The Alcazar Signature petrol costs Rs. 18.71 lakh with the manual transmission and Rs. 19.85 lakh with the automatic. With a price difference of Rs. 1.14 lakh between these two, the cost of upgrading to the automatic transmission is even more attractive than that of the mid-spec Platinum variants.

Ventilated front seats seem like the only must-have feature of this variant, considering the non-breathable leather upholstery offered in the Platinum trim. So, although it’s not that expensive compared to the middle variant, it doesn’t justify the gap well enough to earn our recommendation.
Which Variant Of The 2021 Hyundai Alcazar Petrol Should You Buy?
For the manual transmission, the base Prestige variant of the Hyundai Alcazar petrol is an easy choice. It offers almost all of the features you’d expect at this price point for a reasonable asking price and the choice between a 6 and 7 seat setup.
The upgrade to the mid-spec Platinum variant is almost justifiable from a value-for-money perspective, but it doesn’t have compelling, must-have features to warrant a jump. So, we’ll leave the decision in your hands.
The top-spec Signature variant of the Alcazar petrol manual is not that expensive over the Platinum variant but not a value for money upgrade at all. More so because the middle variant itself doesn’t add enough must-have features to the list. You should consider this only if you are already considering buying the Platinum variant, as non-breathable leather seats are a no-no in our climate.

If you’re interested in the Hyundai ALcazar petrol automatic, then it’s difficult to pick a favourite variant. With the base variant, the jump to the automatic transmission is a bit expensive. While the higher variants offer the automatic transmission for a much more reasonable price, the features themselves don’t mandate an upgrade. So, once again, we’ll leave it up to you to pick a variant as all 3 of them are evenly matched.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The 2021 Hyundai Alcazar Petrol?
The Hyundai Alcazar petrol comes with a 2.0-litre normal petrol engine, which makes 159PS of power and 191Nm of torque. Compared to its closest rival, the MG Hector Plus, it packs more horses but is substantially down on torque. Turbo petrol engines generally have a torquey engine with a much wider spread than normal petrol engines, even with lower displacements. This means that turbo petrol engines offer much better drivability and real-world efficiency as you don’t need to rev them hard to extract decent performance.
Both of these cars come with a 6-speed manual transmission. For automatic buyers, the Hyundai Alcazar offers a 6-speed torque converter automatic, while the Hector Plus has a 6-speed dual-clutch and a CVT.
In terms of fuel efficiency figures, the Hyundai Alcazar beats the MG Hector Plus and offers a mileage of 14.5kmpl with the manual transmission and 14.2kmpl with the automatic.
