What Are The Engine Specifications of Tata Tiago?
The Tiago is equipped with a 1.2 litre petrol engine that has the capability to generate 86PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. Being a 3 cylinder engine, there are chances that it would be a bit less refined than its rival cars’ 4 cylinder engines. As far as power output is concerned, the Grand i10 Nios’ turbo-petrol engine is the most powerful and torquey in this segment. Among the normal petrol engines in this segment, the Tiago’s engine is the most powerful, and also offers the best torque in lower engine revs. However, being a heavy car, its torque:weight ratio is lesser than its rivals.

The automatic transmission option of the Tiago is available only in 2 variants, namely -- XZA and XZA+ variants. The XZA+ variant offers better value among the two.
Tata Tiago Variants Explained - Which variant to Buy
In case of the Tiago manual transmission variants, it would be better to choose XT variant over the XT. After the prices and features updates, the XT variant almost justifies its incremental cost over the XE, and it also covers all basic features. Hence, we recommend the XT variant to all those Tiago buyers who wish to buy only a basic variant.
The XT Limited Edition also justifies its additional cost over the XT variant, but as its price difference with the XZ variant is only around Rs 16,000, the XZ is the recommended variant among the two. This is because the XZ variant adds-in a number of useful features which will significantly enhance your ownership experience, such as - height adjustable driver seat, rear wiper and defogger and a big touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Hence, the XZ and the XZ+ variants are the suitable variants to choose for those buyers who prefer to get some feel-good features.
