The LXI variant offers all the standard safety features along with driver airbag, while the LXI Optional variant offers the additional features of passenger airbag and front seatbelts with pretensioners.

We would strongly recommend to all the buyers to consider only the optional variants in this case.

Other noteworthy features of the LXI variant include central locking, front power windows, front power outlet and body-coloured bumpers. It gets black door handles and ORVMs and 13-inch steel wheels without wheel covers.

All the features of the 2021 Maruti WagonR LXI and LXI Optional variants are listed in the table below:

According to us, these variants lack a number of key features such as day/night IRVM, remote central locking, audio system, electrically adjustable ORVMs and tilt steering adjustment.

Only the LXI and LXI Optional variants are available with CNG option, and we suggest you go for the LXI Optional variant in this case.

In case of the petrol version, if you are on a budget, then should you consider the WagonR LXI Optional variant or consider a higher variant, this we will discuss after looking into the next variant.

What Are The Features of 2021 Maruti Suzuki WagonR VXI & VXI(O) Variants?

The WagonR VXI variant is Rs 32,500 more expensive than the LXI variant.

According to us, the VXI(O) variant lacks some features such as rear speakers, defogger, steering-mounted controls, height adjustable driver seat and adjustable rear headrests.

Still, the VXI Optional variant covers most of the basic features. More importantly, these added features easily justify the incremental value of Rs 33,000. Hence, going for the VXI Optional variant over the LXI optional variant would be definitely sensible both in terms of value and features.

The VXI optional variant is also available with a 1.2-litre engine, which costs another Rs 35,500 more. However, we feel that for better performance, you may go for this powertrain option.

If you are considering buying the WagonR as your primary car, then we would definitely recommend the VXI Optional variant with the 1.2 powertrain. This is true for both manual and automatic transmission options.

Some of the key notable additional features of the top ZXI variant include - rear defogger, rear wiper, front fog lamps, electrically foldable ORVMs and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and steering-mounted controls.

You can view all the additional features of the top WagonR ZXI variant in the table below:

The ZXI’s additional features easily justify the incremental cost of Rs 28,000. However, in the ZXI variant, most of the non-safety features are in the good-to-have category, and are not must-have in nature.

Thus, you can consider choosing the WagonR ZXI variant depending on your personal budget and requirements.

2021 Maruti Suzuki WagonR - Which Variant to Buy?

Let’s sum up all the variants of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki WagonR in order to simplify your buying decision.

In case of the petrol-manual powertrain, according to us, the VXI optional variant with the 1.0-litre engine is better than settling for the base LXI Optional variant.

If you are considering buying the WagonR as your primary car, then we would suggest choosing the VXI Optional variant with 1.2-litre engine, for the sake of better performance.

Over the VXI Optional, the ZXI variant is a value-wise sensible buy. However, the ZXI mostly offers added good-to-have features, so choosing this variant over the VXI depends on your personal choices.
