The Magnite also comes with a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which offers 100PS of maximum power along with 160Nm of peak torque. Despite offering lesser torque output than the Venue turbo, Sonet turbo, Nexon and XUV300, the Magnite turbo has the best-in-segment torque:weight ratio. The Magnite’s turbo petrol engine also comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, which offers the segment-best claimed fuel efficiency at 20kmpl.

The Magnite turbo also comes with a CVT type automatic transmission option. With the CVT option, this engine generates a little less torque output. Based on the engine specs, the turbo-petrol engine seems to be the better choice for a car of the Magnite’s size.

What Are The Dimensions Of The 2020 Nissan Magnite?

The Magnite is an SUV that belongs to the B2 segment, and thus, it has a length of around 4 metres. It is almost as wide as the Ford EcoSport, is wider than the Honda WR-V, but is the shortest in the segment. Its wheelbase is as long as that of the Sonet, Venue, Brezza and Nexon, and it offers a better boot space than the XUV300 and Brezza. All the variants of the Magnite come with 16-inch wheels.

Magnite XE is aggressively priced, so much so that it has in it to compete against entry-level variants of B1-segment hatchbacks as well. And it does include a host of must-have features too. So budget buyers who’re planning to buy a basic car can certainly plan to go for the Magnite XE. It will be a good idea to retrofit features like wheel covers, audio system and central locking in this variant.

XV is a suitable upgrade from XE variant, however, we’d recommend you buy the higher variants with the turbo-petrol engine only, for a better ownership experience.

There are three variants on offer with the turbo-petrol engine. Between these three, XV is our top recommended variant. It gets features like touchscreen infotainment system with rear parking camera, height adjustable driver seat, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs aur keyless entry w/ push-button start/stop -- these would take your ownership experience to the next level vis-a-vis XL variant.

With this powertrain, buyers can opt for the top-spec XV Premium variant as well if they find the features useful according to their usage. The additional features on offer on the XV Premium variant are primarily good-to-have features, but justify their value over the lower XV variant. This outcome is valid for buyers who plan to buy the turbo-petrol-CVT powertrain as well.

What Are The Colour Options Of The 2020 Nissan Magnite?

Nissan is offering 4 monotone exterior colour options on the new Magnite, namely -- Silver, Brown, Black and White.

The Magnite XV and XV Premium variants will be available in 4 dual tone colour options apart from the monotone shades. These are -- Black roof with Red, Deep Maroon and Pearl White, and White roof with Blue. The base XE variant will be available for sale only in the Silver and White colour options, while the XL variant will get only Silver, White and Brown colour options.
