The Hyundai Aura CNG is now more affordable than before thanks to the introduction of the base E variant. Hyundai say the introduction of the new base CNG variant of the Aura is a direct response to the growing demand for more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles in the Indian market.

BYD India have expanded the Atto 3 variant lineup with the launch of 3 new variants. Called Dynamic, Premium and Superior, the 2024 BYD Atto 3’s prices now start from Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making the SUV Rs. 9.0 lakh more affordable than before. Nissan India have launched the Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition to mark the first anniversary of the Magnite Geza Edition in May 2023. Nissan are offering the new Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition with their 1.0L turbo petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox. Priced at Rs. 9.84 lakh (ex-showroom), the Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition is the only variant in the lineup that offers a turbo petrol engine with an automatic transmission for under Rs. 10.0 lakh.

Mahindra have made the 7-seater XUV700 more affordable with the introduction of a new MX 7-seater variant with both petrol and diesel engines. Prices for the 2024 Mahindra XUV700 7-seater with the petrol and diesel engine now start from Rs. 14.49 lakh and Rs. 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

After halting the sale of their Chennai manufacturing plant to the JSW Group, Ford India have now filed a patent for a compact SUV. The latest patent application has reignited rumours of Ford making a comeback in India.

Once it goes on sale, the Tata Punch CNG will become the only CNG bi-fuel option in the affordable SUV/crossover segment. This powertrain option will make it the USP of the Punch. Moreover, the Punch CNG packs another USP, which Tata showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The Punch CNG will offer a usable boot space of 150 litres. We had a chance to interact with Toyota’s top officials during the Auto Expo 2023. We wanted to  know from Toyota’s top representatives if they see room for a more affordable G-SLF variant of the Innova Hycross for commercial buyers. Given that fleet buyers are extremely sensitive to a vehicle’s upfront and ownership costs, we believe that a manual transmission would have made it more suitable for fleet owners.
