The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Arena Ertiga facelift is here. Let’s compare the new model with the old Ertiga and see what’s changed. In this old vs new comparison, we’ll compare the prices, engine specs, battery capacity, dimensions and highlight the new features of the Ertiga facelift. Let’s start with the price comparison.

The new Ertiga facelift is available in 4 variants — LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI Plus. The Ertiga facelift is priced from Rs. 8.35 lakh and to Rs. 12.80 lakh. The petrol engine is now equipped with dual-jet technology. The same engine is also available with the option of a CNG kit.
Variant to variant, the new model’s prices are Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 1.23 lakh higher than before. The Ertiga’s base variant’s price is up by Rs. 22,000 while the top variant costs Rs. 1.23 lakh more than before.
The automatic transmission in the new Ertiga is a new 6-speed TC automatic unit replacing the old 4-speed TC automatic unit. Earlier, Maruti used to charge a premium of Rs. 1.20 lakh for the automatic transmission. With the facelift, Maruti now charge a premium of Rs. 1.50 lakh for the automatic transmission over the respective manual transmission.
The automatic transmission is not available in the base LXI variant. In the pre-facelift model, the automatic transmission was not available in the base LXI and top ZXI Plus variants.
With the facelift, the ZXI variant of the Ertiga also gets the option of a CNG powertrain. Earlier, CNG was only available in the VXI variant. The VXI variant continues to get the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit.
The incremental cost of CNG over the respective petrol variant remains unchanged at Rs. 95,000.
In terms of engine, the new Ertiga gets a new 1.5L dual-jet normal petrol engine and a new 1.5L dual-jet normal CNG engine. The petrol and CNG variants get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The petrol variants also get the option of new 6-speed TC automatic transmission that replaces the old 4-speed TC automatic transmission.
The new Ertiga’s 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 2PS of power and 1Nm of torque lower than the older engine. However, it returns 1.5kmpl to 2.51kmpl more than the older engine. The efficiency of 20.30kmpl with the Ertiga 1.5L automatic is 13.9% higher than before and is a significant leap over the older Ertiga model.
The 1.5L normal CNG engine of the Ertiga now makes 4PS less power than before and delivers 0.03kmpkg more claimed fuel efficiency.
All the dimensions of the new Ertiga remain identical to the pre-facelift Ertiga.
