The nation’s top-selling sedan, the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Dzire, has earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program).

Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, presented the Bharat NCAP certificate to Hisashi Takeuchi, the managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, underscoring the importance of this milestone for the Indian automotive industry.

The Dzire’s stellar performance in the rigorous Bharat NCAP crash tests demonstrates its robust build and safety features, offering excellent protection for passengers.
The Dzire is built on Suzuki’s fifth-generation Heartect platform, which Maruti says contributes to its strong safety performance.

The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features as standard:

Other standard safety features include speed-sensitive automatic door locking, front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, high-speed warning alerts and seatbelt reminder lamps for all occupants. The top variants of the Dzire further add features such as a 360-degree surround view camera, day/night adjustable inside rear view mirror (IRVM), LED fog lamps, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

This 5-star rating for the Dzire is a testament to Maruti Suzuki’s strong commitment to enhancing vehicle safety across its entire product range.
Speaking on the results, Mr. Nitin Gadkari stated:
It gives me immense pride to see Made-in-India high-volume mainstream cars achieve exemplary safety ratings. Bharat NCAP aims to raise safety awareness among Indian consumers and push manufacturers to adopt global safety standards. I am also pleased to see that Maruti Suzuki, a mass market manufacturer, has fast-paced adoption of six airbags as standard across all variants of models covering all the segments. Six airbags, from an entry hatchback to a premium SUV, is a significant stride by Maruti Suzuki towards vehicle safety. I am sure this will encourage other manufacturers to make six airbags a standard feature across all variants of their models.
Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki, also commented:
Bharat NCAP introduces stringent protocols that will empower consumers to make informed decisions. We are proud to receive this recognition and remain committed to elevating safety across our product range. I am delighted to share that today Maruti Suzuki has a wide portfolio of vehicles equipped with six airbags right from entry segment models like Alto K10 and Celerio to hatchbacks like Swift to premium SUVs like Grand Vitara and Brezza. Within this year, Maruti Suzuki will be having all models across all variants equipped with six airbags as standard. In addition, well ahead of regulatory requirements, all our 18 models are equipped with ESP.
