2026 Hyundai Creta – What’s Changed?
The biggest impact of this update is on feature accessibility. The now-discontinued SX Tech trim was the most affordable way to get ADAS in the Creta range. With its removal, buyers will now have to stretch to the top-spec King variant to access these features.
The SX(O), on the other hand, was earlier the fully-loaded variant when the facelift launched in 2024. However, it lost its positioning after the introduction of the King variant, which now sits at the top of the lineup.
Why Did Hyundai Discontinue These Variants?
While Hyundai haven’t officially stated the reasons, there are a few likely factors behind this move. By removing the SX Tech variant, Hyundai are effectively influencing buyers towards the more expensive Creta King variant for ADAS. This helps improve average selling prices and margins, which is a common strategy in high-demand segments.
Additionally, the SX(O) and SX Premium variants had significant overlap in terms of features and pricing. Simplifying the lineup reduces confusion and makes the buying decision easier for the customer. Fewer variants also mean simpler production planning and inventory management, especially for a high-volume model like the Creta.
Feature Impact: What Buyers Lose
With the SX Tech gone:
- ADAS is no longer accessible in the mid-range price band
- Buyers now face a price jump of over Rs. 1 lakh for these features
With the SX(O) discontinued:
- The previous “fully-loaded” option is gone
- Buyers must now choose between SX Premium and the top-spec King
No Feature Additions Elsewhere
Despite removing 2 variants, Hyundai haven’t added any new features to the remaining variants. Buyers looking for additional equipment can opt for the Summer Edition packs, which cost up to Rs. 55,000 extra.

Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged
The Creta continues with its existing engine lineup:
- 1.5L normal petrol
- 1.5L turbo petrol
- 1.5L turbo diesel
Transmission options include manual, CVT, torque converter automatic and DCT, depending on the engine.
