Mahindra have launched the 2026 XUV 3XO EV with a starting price of Rs. 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV 3XO EV effectively replaces the XUV400 in Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup and is positioned as a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV. Deliveries of the new XUV 3XO EV are scheduled to begin from February 23.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is available in 2 variants – AX5 and AX7L:
Note: The prices in the table above are excluding the home charger. The optional 7.2kW wall charger is available at an additional cost of Rs. 50,000.

Under the skin, the XUV 3XO EV borrows heavily from the now-discontinued XUV400. It uses the same 39.4kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 150PS and 310Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a real-world driving range of around 285km on a single charge.
The new XUV 3XO EV can charge from 0-18 percent in just 50 minutes using a 50kW DC fast charger. Performance figures remain strong, with a claimed 0–100kmph time of 8.3 seconds. Three drive modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless – are on offer to tailor performance to different driving conditions.

In terms of design, the XUV 3XO EV stays very close to its ICE-powered sibling. The overall shape, body panels, lighting elements and alloy wheels are largely unchanged. Subtle EV-specific touches include copper-coloured accents on the exterior and a body-coloured grille that helps distinguish it from the petrol and diesel versions. These restrained changes suggest Mahindra are focusing on familiarity rather than radical differentiation.

The interior layout is also carried over from the ICE XUV 3XO, with the EV getting bronze or copper highlights in place of the usual silver trim. The cabin features twin 10.25-inch screens – one for infotainment and the other for the digital instrument cluster. The dashboard design, steering wheel layout and general ergonomics remain familiar, which should help existing Mahindra owners feel right at home.
Feature-wise, the XUV 3XO EV is well-equipped, especially in the higher AX7L trim. Standard features include
The top variant further adds:

Safety is another strong point. The electric SUV comes with 6 airbags as standard, along with ESP, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ADAS. Given that the ICE XUV 3XO has already secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, expectations are high for the EV version to deliver similar crash safety credentials.
With pricing starting at Rs. 13.89 lakh, the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV takes on the Tata Nexon EV, which offers multiple battery options and a longer claimed range, while also acting as an alternative to models like the MG Windsor, Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3. For buyers looking for a familiar SUV form factor with strong performance, modern features and Mahindra’s growing EV ecosystem, the XUV 3XO EV presents itself as a compelling new option.
