2026 Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Spied – Top 5 Expected Changes | V3Cars

A test mule of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift was spotted testing recently, indicating that a mid-lifecycle update for Maruti’s B2-segment SUV is on the way. Launched in April 2023, the Fronx is due for a refresh and Maruti are likely to introduce the updated model later in 2026.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Spied - Top 5 Expected Changes

The Fronx competes with rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO in the highly competitive B2 SUV segment.

Here are the top 5 changes we expect from the Fronx facelift:

1. Updated Exterior Design

Based on the spy shots, we can confirm that the overall silhouette of the Fronx will not change, but the facelift will bring subtle cosmetic updates to keep it fresh. Expected changes include:

  • Revised front grille and bumper
  • Updated LED headlamps, DRLs and taillamps
  • New alloy wheel designs

These updates should help the Fronx stay competitive against newer rivals without altering its coupe-SUV styling.

2. Larger Touchscreen Infotainment System

The current Fronx offers a 9-inch touchscreen, which now feels average for the segment. The facelift is likely to introduce:

  • A larger touchscreen (potentially 10.25-inch)
  • Updated UI and smoother software experience

This upgrade would align the Fronx with segment expectations, especially as rivals, such as the new Venue, now offer larger, more feature-rich infotainment systems measuring up to 12.3 inches.

3. Feature Additions (Sunroof, Digital Cluster)

Maruti could use this update to address some key feature gaps. Expected additions include:

  • Single-pane sunroof (low probability but possible)
  • Fully digital instrument cluster
  • Potential feature reshuffling across variants

These additions could significantly improve the Fronx’s appeal, especially for buyers comparing it with feature-loaded rivals.

4. Possibility Of A Flex-Fuel Powertrain

Maruti have already showcased a flex-fuel version of the Fronx, and the facelift could bring it closer to production. Expected updates compatibility with higher ethanol blends (up to E85). This would future-proof the Fronx and align it with upcoming government regulations.

Apart from the flex fuel powertrain, the Fronx facelift is expected to continue with the existing powertrain options:

  • 1.2L normal petrol with 5-speed MT and AMT
  • 1.0L turbo petrol with 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT
  • 1.2L CNG  with 5-speed MT

While the engines may not change, Maruti could tweak tuning for better efficiency or drivability.

5. Improved Safety Performance

The Fronx has not been tested by Bharat NCAP yet. However, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, on which the Fronx is based, currently holds a 4-star safety rating. With 6 airbags already offered as standard, Maruti could focus on improving the Fronx’s overall safety performance with updates such as improved structural rigidity to improve crash protection. These changes could help the Fronx aim for a higher safety rating and remain competitive in the B2 SUV space.

Launch Timeline & Positioning

Maruti are yet to confirm a launch timeline, but the Fronx facelift is expected to arrive later in 2026. Given its strong sales and positioning as a more premium alternative to the Baleno, we expect the update to focus on:

  • Feature enhancements
  • Tech upgrades
  • Minor design refresh

This approach should help Maruti maintain the Fronx’s strong position in one of India’s most competitive segments without significantly increasing costs.
