In terms of battery specifications, the XUV400's 39.5kWh battery is 1kWh smaller than the Nexon EV Max's 40.5kWh battery. However, the XUV400 is more powerful, with an output of 150PS against the Nexon EV Max’s 143PS. The XUV400 is faster too, with a claimed 0-100kmph sprint time of 8.3 seconds compared to the Nexon EM Max’s 9 seconds. In terms of range, the XUV400 offers a claimed range of 456km on a single charge, which is 19km more than the Nexon EV Max’s claimed range. 

As far as energy regeneration is concerned, the XUV400 does not offer adjustable regeneration modes. The level of regeneration depends on the drive mode you are in and the speed of the car. However, it does get an ‘L’ mode, which is basically a one-pedal driving mode. The Nexon EV Max, on the other hand, offers 3 levels of regeneration that offer different levels of resistance and energy recuperation.

On the charging front, both the SUVs offer 3 charging options — a 3-pin socket-based home charger, an AC fast charger and a 50kW DC fast charger. With the 50kW DC fast charger, the XUV400 takes just 50 minutes for 0-80% charge whereas the Nexon EV Max takes 56 minutes for the same.
