Next-gen Isuzu V-Cross Not Coming To India This Year | V3Cars

Isuzu Motors have never been able to catch the limelight in our market. Globally though, Isuzu offer an exhaustive range of new products. Currently, Isuzu India offer two products — the V-Cross pick-up truck and MU-X 3-row SUV. The V-Cross is further offered in multiple commercial and private derivatives. Both the V-Cross and MU-X on sale in our market are the previous generations of both models. We have now learned that Isuzu India have no plans to bring any new-gen products to our market this year.

2022 V-Cross

There are multiple reasons behind Isuzu’s decision to not bring fresh products to our market. Firstly, the V-Cross and MU-X are doing well in the south-east Asian markets. The Japanese SUV-maker enjoys a good chunk of the market and are able to meet the demand. Secondly, the anticipated outcome from the launch of the new-age products doesn’t seem worthy enough for the fresh injection of investments. Isuzu Motors are using their Indian manufacturing facility more like an export hub to fulfil the demand in the global markets.

Isuzu launched the updated V-Cross pickup truck and MU-X family SUV in 2020 in the Thai market. The updated models brought an all-new design and better interiors to the table. On the other hand, the India-spec models come with the older design but with BS6-compliant 1.9L diesel engines.

However, we can expect Isuzu Motors to bring fresh products in 2023. The all-new Hilux — even with its exorbitant price tag — will surely put a dent in the already slim sales of the V-Cross. Hence, Isuzu are likely to launch the updated V-Cross with an all-new design and better features in 2023. The launch of the V-Cross pickup truck could be followed by the new MU-X family SUV. Closer to home, Isuzu India recently updated the V-Cross and MU-X with a new touchscreen infotainment system.
