A Nissan Ariya electric crossover was recently spotted on a flatbed on Indian roads. Nissan haven’t revealed any plans to launch the Ariya EV in India yet. However, the carmaker is likely evaluating the electric vehicle for our market.

The Nissan Ariya is currently Nissan’s all-electric flagship model. It sits on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-EV platform and gets a coupe-inspired roofline. Globally, the Ariya rivals other electric crossovers like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Nissan are unlikely to launch the Ariya in India anytime soon as the brand has confirmed their first electric vehicle will be an A-segment electric hatchback.

The Ariya gets a curvy exterior design with smooth surfaces all around. Up front, the Ariya gets slim LED headlights with extended LED DRLs. The front grille gets a unique pattern but doesn’t have any inlet for cooling. At the side, the Ariya gets a straight character line that connects the front and rear profiles. Furthermore, it also gets gloss black cladding over the wheel arches and a contrasting coupe-inspired roof line. At the rear, the Ariya gets a connected LED tail light setup along with a roof spoiler.

On the inside, the Ariya gets a flat surface dashboard with a twin screen setup sitting atop. It gets bronze inserts on the connected AC vents and centre console and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Both the screens measure 12.3-inches in size and the infotainment system also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Ariya also offers a head-up display and capacitive controls for air conditioning and media.

Nissan offer the Ariya with a choice of 2 battery pack options — 63kWh and 87kWh. This battery pack comes with both 2- and 4-wheel drivetrains. The 4-wheel drivetrain offers 306PS of power and 600Nm of torque. It can do the 0-100kmph sprint in 5.7 seconds while the top speed is limited to 200kmph. The 4-wheel-drive variants with the bigger 87kWh battery pack offer a claimed range of over 500km on a single charge.
