The third generation Dacia Duster, which is set to launch in India next year as the Renault Duster, achieved a 3-star rating in Euro NCAP’s latest crash tests. The 2025 Duster scored 70- percent for adult occupant protection, 84 percent for child occupant protection, 57 percent for safety assist systems, and 60 percent for vulnerable road user protection.

It’s worth noting that the Euro NCAP’s ratings are not valid for the Renault Duster bound for India in 2025.
The 2024 Duster’s passenger compartment maintained stability in frontal offset collisions. While the driver and passenger experienced good protection for their lower legs, the driver's chest exhibited weaker protection. In full-width frontal impacts, both the driver and rear passenger demonstrated marginal chest protection. However, the Duster excelled in side impact scenarios, providing strong protection to all critical body areas across both barrier and pole tests, achieving the maximum score in this category. The vehicle's head restraints and seats effectively reduced the risk of whiplash injuries in rear-end collisions.

In frontal and side impact tests, the 2024 Duster provided generally good protection for both 6- and 10-year-old child occupants. The 10-year-old dummy's neck exhibited adequate protection in the frontal test. While rear-facing child restraints can be accommodated by disabling the front passenger airbag, the vehicle lacks a child presence detection system. All standard child restraint types fit securely within the Duster.

The Duster's autonomous emergency braking system demonstrated adequate performance in tests involving other vehicles. However, the absence of an occupant detection system in the rear seats prevented the rear seat belt reminder from contributing to the safety assist score. The lane support system effectively counteracts lane drifting and intervenes in critical situations.
Pedestrian and cyclist head protection offered by the Dacia Duster was generally good or adequate, except for poor performance in areas around the windscreen pillars and base. Pelvic protection was consistently weak across all test zones. The vehicle's autonomous emergency braking system can respond to both vulnerable road users and other vehicles. Pedestrian response was adequate, and cyclist response was good.
